Ogryns

Thinking about adding some but more so humans in mechs count as ogrns but havent seen many in use. Any tips or tactics, are they viable in a soup list )have deathwatch, blood angels and custodes to work with cause i havent started a mono list(

I'm assuming you mean Ogryns as in the unit, so that's not Bullgryns? They're not a commonly seen unit due to the somewhat unique place they sit. They suffer from being the generalist in an army of specialists (mostly) - Bullgryns hit much hard in combat and are much tougher thanks to their improved saves. Shooting is something Guard aren't short of and unfortunately Ogryn shooting isn't anything special :confused:

 

I think they'll do better outside of a Guard list for it, as a unit that can handle infantry units well either in shooting or combat where their higher Strength and Toughness will server them well. A lot depends on what sort of list you intend to run, as it's easy to recommend Bullgryns over them...

I have some old metal ones that at some point I will finally finish painting

 

My plan for them was to counter assault in my defensive line as they're slightly cheaper than Bullgryns and can at least tarpit something

Although as WF says, they're considerably outclassed by Bullgryns so I can't say its the best decision, I just need an excuse to run them! :lol: :sweat:

I only have the 3 bullgryns from the last christmas bundle, and the triple bodyguards do some serious damage for their points.

 

GuardDaddy hit it right on the head, proper positioning keeps them safe, and poised for the intervention.

 

Looking forward to the Elites supplement for Killteam. Thinking of a Bone 'Ead Bully with some Scion Gunner babysitters
