RoadRunna
Hello All How does the Emperors Children army bonus of +1 initiative bonus stack with an unwieldy weapon? Does it? Does this mean that an EC champion with a power fist hit before an enemy champion who also has a power fist? Unknown Legionnaire
No. A model with an 'unwieldy' weapon fights at initiative step 1, plain and simple. Doesn't matter if the model using said weapon has an ability score in initiative of 5, 6, 4+1+1, or whatever modifiers they get to their score. They're now using a weapon that follows that specific USR and thus don't strike at a any higher initiative step, but at step 1. SkimaskMohawk
Unknown legionnaire is right in effect, but the full reason is that on page 14, under "multiple modifiers" it gives you an order of operation to follow; Multiply, Add/Subtract, Set Value. So you would add +1 for you I5 in a lot of cases, and then set it to 1. RoadRunna
Thanks Did some further re-reading and it says "strikes at initiative Step 1" rather than something like "modifies initiative to 1" so looks like we all reached the same conclusion.
