Well, in that case, here is another day of progress.

Working on the secondary colors. Soft armor, pauldrons and details. Then, adding the company colors.

This chapter follows the Codex Astartes with only minor deviations, so the company is marked by the customary color designation. Since these marines I am working on will be part of the Tactical Reserves of the chapter, they belong to the 6th Company, and as such, they wear orange as their company color.

Next stage is metal details, weapons and equipment, before then proceeding to shading.

I think I'll work one full squad of 10 with these colors, then try another squad on purple for the 7th Tactical Reserve Company. Just to have variety.

Well, the journey of my first mini back into the fold is almost done.

Colors have been applied in full, and now I need to shade this guy.

Although I have A LOT of room for improvement, I am quite pleased with this one Tactical Marine. It's been a rewarding return to this side of the hobby after so many, many years. The pace I have been keeping has been fun to maintain as well.

Thanks for the encouragement, brothers. It really helps me a lot.

Well, it took a couple of days more than I intended. My plan was to finish in 5 days, but it took 7 in total. Still, the work is done! I applied shades yesterday, then fixed some mistakes, varnished it, and assembled it, today.

The first of my 6th Company Battle Brothers (sans heraldry, but that I am going to 3D print, paint, and apply, once every marine is done).

I also left the next guy primed, so as to start with the base colors tomorrow morning. Once I have finished a couple more, I'll maybe try and move into making two guys at a time, to speed things up.

Looking great!

Once you get back into it, it will all go much faster. I know painting more than one at a time really helps me get things done better. I usually do it in groups of 5, that has worked out for me as something that isn't too much or too little.

  • 3 weeks later...

Had a couple of weeks of a LOT of work, which crushed my painting time. I am back at it now, so, i should have some new updates by next week.

Im adding two more guys to my reserve tacticals. Finishing off this one box of three tacticals I had since I STARTED with the hobby...

Greens done. Some details tomorrow, and the corresponding colors and shades next week.

I finally found more painting time. Managed to push forward with a couple of models, which I plan on finishing by friday.

It's been slow work, since life has been throwing some hurdles into my schedule. But, painting is moving forward, regardless...
