Necron terrain or item?

Actually I’m glad both were shown!, the crystals look great, another different version we see all around on necron bases but this look like aggressive crystal structures bursting up to form ..who knows what?!... some type of living metal/crystal material .. and the barricades look pretty awesome too ... More of a permanent structure in a necron tomb base!, I’ve never checked but can necrons take terrain in your army...?!...

these are good projects to start when you finish work on your army...and let’s be honest here necrons don’t have a super amount of variety so when the armies finished you can add some necron themed terrain !!

That LaserCutCard stuff reminded me of the Frontline Gaming 'robot city' line. Check this stuff out:

All sorts of terrain.

Slick looking gaming mat.

There's also 3dAlienWorlds, who makes designs that can be made with a 3d printer and has retailers in various countries around the globe.

So many goodies.

Ps. I'm adding all of these links to the Necrontyr Resource page for general access.

I was just about to suggest that, NTaW. Quick thinking indeed.

The 3-d printer designs are intriguing...I prefer to design my own stuff (case in point in-progress tomb citadel) but some of the stuff is rather neat. I may consider that city wall, and pathways....

I think the Crystals were kinda like the Green rim on GW's bases...really cool for the time but dated quickly :ermm:  the green crystals seem to fit that category...i'm hoping for a resurgence though what with the new contrast paints etc...some other coloured crystals could be really cool !!

++EDIT++ i just saw the Power Generator 3d print file...oh i wants that

I only have the big obelisk finished. I also have a set of walls and 'hills' that look to be OOP for the time being. I know LaserCutCard recently had a shake up and had to redesign everything in their catalog due to a material change so I guess they haven't gotten around to the hill and walls.

I used the pop outs from the obelisk on some home made objective markers (complete with little die holder back when random objectives were a thing :biggrin.:). The objectives are made out of card stock and were pretty easy to make.

Looks good, and those objectives are top notch. I was going to ask why numbers and dice slots but then I remembered all the CA and narrative missions I've played where that would have come in quite handy. Will definitely be stealing that idea when I get back to terrain/objectives after ETL stuff.

I support your use of blue with Necrons as well :tu:

How did you cut the 45' angles needed to make obelisks?

I draw them in microsoft word (any program will work) like this and then print them on heavy card stock. I cut them out with a sharp blade and metal ruler and lightly score the folds. Then assemble with thin super glue. I did the same thing with the little boxes.

This is a quick redraw I just did because I dont have my original file on this machine. Make sure the sides are as perfectly aligned as you can get them. I wouldnt use my redraw to build anything, not aligned well enough.
