Death Company Dreadnought ornament

DC Dreadnought has a Chalice with an Iron Halo on his left side. I am wondering whether it has any meaning, or might be specific to a certain Company (his past Company maybe? as he is in the Death Company now).

The skull-shaped chalice is the image of the Red Grail. A common enough icon among the Blood Angels and their successors due to it being one of the greatest relics of tremendous spiritual and historical meaning. It was used to gather the Blood of Sanguinius and thus assured survival of the Legion and later Chapters of the Blood. Remember that Sanguinius' blood is used to activate new organs in an Aspirant.

Why put it on a DC dread? IDK really. For me the Red Grail symbolises survival against the odds. So maybe it's supposed to mean "hope".

But I doubt the designer of the kit thought about it ;)
