How do I paint black on black?

So the spears chaplains librarian and tech marines and apocathery all wear black so is the chapter symbol please help how should I do it black on black

Do it in another colour, unsure if its still the same for Blood Angels but they used to have black pads for sgts and the icon in yellow.

Yeah, reverse the scheme. If they normally have blue armor and black symbols, then the ones in black armor have blue symbols to tie it all together. OR, do the armor black, but the shoulder pads blue, and leave the symbols black.

Something to note is typically Apothecaries and Chaplains usually have one pauldron remain the normal chapter colours, usually the left. So you can keep the normal blue with black symbol even on those models with black armour.

 

 

Just for example, here is my Silver Templars Apothecary. Armour is white instead of silver but the single pauldron retains the yellow of the normal armour.

Alternatively, if you prefer the shoulders to be black too, as well as the emblem, put it on a white or yellow roundel.
