count-as Disintegrator?

Recommended Posts

With the new Skorpius being rather.... pricey for what it does, I'm looking for different models to use. I namely am trying to find a good count-as for the Disintegrator with the ignoring LOS cannon (I forget the name of it at this time).

My initial thinking would either be the Loki conversion for the APC from Dreamforge Games, but I know the model is longer than a Land Raider and the actual Skorpius is the size of a Rhino. Another thought I had was use one of the mechs from Dust, but I think they're either too tall or too big.

Anyone have any other ideas for a good artillery Skorpius count-as?

I'm still set on proxying Goliath Trucks and Achilles Ridgerunners.

The Ridgerunner's a touch on the light side, so adding Mechanicus do-dahs to look like force fields and reinforcements might help, but weapon wise it actually has the missile launcher, cannon and mortar components, so it fits fairly closely - just assume all the rounds are radioactive or have special top-quality tech embedded in 'em.

Movement-wise, they're close matches too.

I imagine Rhinos and/or with whirlwinds/stalker/hunter pieces would work too. Maybe a little on the chunky side, but add in some Skitarii & Servitor crew, and the values might be more palatable.

Well, if you have razorback or whirlwind lieing around, it shouldn't be too difficult to scratch build a turret.  You could do something similar to how I scratch built my own exorcists (they were done before there was a GW model, the vehicle bodies are the old immolator kit).

The guns are the plastic valves that go inside your standard household taps, with a large hexagonal bolt as a base, an old rhino hatch on top and cardboard (plastic card would also work) for the rest.  You would likely want to change the angle of the guns, though.

As Xisor says... I think the ridgerunner with add ons will be close , it's size i'm not sure of but if that pic of the skorpius next to a rhino is anything to go by then you may be ok...

I've decided to go the Riderunner and Goliath route for my Ad-Mech transports/tanks, now we have rules for em you can proxy them with any GW model and i think that the Generic GsC range will look good as Indentured Vehicles to assist the Adeptus mechanicus when they need to "Requisition stuff" in a hurry... you could even use spare parts from Onager kits if you got any to use as weapon barrels etc to get more of the Ad-Mech aesthetic?

Hmm, that might be a fair point.

How about a pair from buying a Predator and a Whirlwind?

Whirlwind Turret stands in for the Belleros, the Preadtor Autocannon stands in for the Ferrumite.

Hunter-Killers/spare bits then go on to do duty as the Missiles.

Especially effective if anyone has spare bits from Land Raiders/Chaos Vehicles (Turret HK Missile/Havoc Launcher).

Though at that, I'm on the cusp of just saying: Damn it the Taurox Prime pretty much does the job.

If you can get the spare weapons off of ridge runners/various Astra Militarum vehicles and bung them on Goliaths, then your sorted too!
