LutherMax
I had the opportunity to return to my first love again recently and paint my rendition of Tolmeron. I always liked this model but as I don't have a BA army anymore (sniff), a giveaway for my Instagram followers was the perfect excuse to paint him :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357166-lieutenant-tolmeron/ Share on other sites
Dont-Be-Haten
Looks good Luther! You need to do a Carmine Blade for your boy! HAH! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357166-lieutenant-tolmeron/#findComment-5347240 Share on other sites
Panzer
I just can't like the pose. It would look great on a diorama when he's stabbing some big Tyranid or Daemon or something but on its own it just looks off to me. However your paintjob is great! dice4thedicegod
Huh, did GW give him an iron halo? (Great paint job by the way!) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357166-lieutenant-tolmeron/#findComment-5347298 Share on other sites
SnorriSnorrison
Hot damn, that is a nice paint job! Well done on the zenithal highlights, the shade of red and the overall quite grimdark vibe of the miniature. Is that airbrush on the sword? :) I agree with sfPanzer though, ya wouldn’t really hold a sword like that. Looks more like a pistol-shooting pose. The Unseen
Maybe he's halfway through swinging the sword to point, to direct fire support? It's what most lieutenants are doing anyway. Think Aragon at the battle of Helms Deep. Is it necessary? Probably not, but it looks cool as hell and probably helps morale, rather than just voxing *fire at that enemy* Anyway, nice paint job Luther, looks good. I should probably put my Tolmeron together at some point. Son of Sacrifice
Love your stuff Luther. Blood Angels and Raptors are both past loves of mine. One day I'll go back. The armor has a lovely finish, is it a satin / semi gloss varnish? LutherMax
Thanks for the comments! As to the pose, I imagine him leading a charge, or directing a volley of fire or something suitably epic like that Is that airbrush on the sword? Yep, airbrush and edge highlights The armor has a lovely finish, is it a satin / semi gloss varnish? The model had a gloss coat before black panel lining, then a satin varnish after that (Vallejo Premium) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357166-lieutenant-tolmeron/#findComment-5348084 Share on other sites
