Lieutenant Tolmeron

I had the opportunity to return to my first love again recently and paint my rendition of Tolmeron. I always liked this model but as I don't have a BA army anymore (sniff), a giveaway for my Instagram followers was the perfect excuse to paint him :)

Hot damn, that is a nice paint job! Well done on the zenithal highlights, the shade of red and the overall quite grimdark vibe of the miniature. Is that airbrush on the sword? :)

I agree with sfPanzer though, ya wouldn’t really hold a sword like that. Looks more like a pistol-shooting pose.

Maybe he's halfway through swinging the sword to point, to direct fire support?

It's what most lieutenants are doing anyway.

Think Aragon at the battle of Helms Deep.

Is it necessary? Probably not, but it looks cool as hell and probably helps morale, rather than just voxing *fire at that enemy*

Anyway, nice paint job Luther, looks good.

I should probably put my Tolmeron together at some point.

Thanks for the comments!

As to the pose, I imagine him leading a charge, or directing a volley of fire or something suitably epic like that :biggrin.:

Is that airbrush on the sword? :smile.:

Yep, airbrush and edge highlights :smile.:

The armor has a lovely finish, is it a satin / semi gloss varnish?

The model had a gloss coat before black panel lining, then a satin varnish after that (Vallejo Premium)
