Help with heavy units

I have used Long Fangs as my go to for filing up my heavy slots for a while now, and have been thinking of getting some more toys for those slots. But I am not sure what is good for their points. Hellblasters seems fine on paper, but Long Fangs seems more versatile, I am mostly using missile launcher ones. Predators seem weak and Land raiders are to expensive to use for the little they do,

I am wondering what tactical use the different heavies we have? What are the Fang missing in the heavy category? Are we more or less forced to go to a soup list against knights and similar units?

My current list is a snow flake

I have 2 eliminators and a leviathan as my "heavy"

Leviathan is pure awesome

Eliminators are good finishing off the last wound and harassing weak support characters

They are not killing units solo though. Basically get 3 bolter shots with AP1 or AP2 depending on ammo being used (never use frag rounds)

Your question about what we need depends on the synergy with the rest of your list.

I have 8 BS 2 lascannons from HQs dreads to compliment my heavy units

I never feel i need more anti tank from the heavy slots. Once my saga of beast slayer activates even storm bolters and heavy flamers are painful to vehicles

I have found Hellblasters very good provided you have Bjorn or a Wolf Lord to provide them with rerolls. Long Fangs provide my long-ranged fire support while the Hellblasters move up with the Grey Hunters to provide that juicy double-tap at close range.

I also like Razorbacks for extra dakka, particularly the twin assault cannon version. Predators are rather over-priced in this edition and Land Raiders even more so. Our flyers are good an decently shooty though.

The Primaris Repulsors look interesting although I have not played them extensively yet.

Technically we cannot until there is an FAQ. It is likely there will be on as we get the sheet in apocalypse, however until FAQ all non codex chapters technically dont have access.

This is because [chapter] cannot be replaced with SW, DA, GK, BA etc. And there is currently no way for us to get space wolves in the key words. Other primaris are specifically called out allowing this.

This happens every primaris release because somehow gw struggles with this sort of thing. And we have yet to be excluded from primaris units so if its intended it'll be the first

Battlescribe is right not to allow it in the unlikely event it was intentional they dont want to encourage people to buy something they cant use and they try to follow the rules as strictly as possible.

I personally have emailed the FAQ team as I'm sure many others have but feel free to email them.

GW really needs to just say that all Primaris models can be used by any Loyal Astartes and just leave it at that. I can't justify getting one of these new tanks just out of the slim chance that it isn't FAQ.

Well we basically got a half measure from the OG primaris release. They kept our old structure and didn’t allow the apothecary but didn’t reaaaally give us anything in return.

I don't think hellblasters measure up to our Long Fangs. They are good, but the +1 to hit any unit called the target goes a long way. In one game my long fang pack armed with 2 lascannons and 2 plasma cannons were accounting for 1 flying tryanid flying creature a turn. Almost like they were shooting skeet. I always give them their own dedicated razorback. Depnding on points the razorback is twin lascannon or twin assault cannon.

Long Fangs don't get +1 to hit
