The urls are prone to change randomly with site updates and user modifications, not to mention if it's from a group chances are viewing will be restricted for anyone trying to open the link that is not a member of that specific group. Hosting your pictures separately on something like Flickr or even here on the B&C is your best bet for putting images in a post and having them work.
