cerebralpolicy
Hi, I'm new to 40k and I found this forum when looking for a way to design Imperial Guardsmen. I've gotten into 40k through friends of mine - I'm currently reading the Gaunt's Ghosts books. I'm disabled, my name is a reference to my disability (well one anyway). It restricts my fine motor skills but I am going to see if I can get into the miniatures with some assistance painting. I'm excited to take a stab at designing my own regiment of the Imperial Guard - I'll need to get more acquainted with fluff since I plan on having them hail from my own planet. I hope it wasn't too ramble-y, I look forward to being here. CerebralPolicy
burningsky25
Welcome to the forum! I'm hardly an old member here, but my experience is enough to say this is a good place to be. Have you played any games of 40k yet or are you wanting to get a small collection of your own before playing the game? Or is modelling and painting more of your interest with gaming just being a bonus? At this point I'm mostly an Adeptus Custodes player so I can't get much direction in the Imperial Guard side of things, but if you have any questions I'm sure the relevant forum could give great advice on those things! WarriorFish
Welcome aboard, don't forget to report in to the barracks for regimental inspection ;)
Quixus
I am not sure what designing a regiment includes for you, but the GW infantry is pretty lackluster (unless you want to play Cadians). You may want to look into getting bodies from other manufacturers such as Anvil Industry for different looks. And welcome to the forum.
FelipeFlops
Welcome! To echo WarriorFish, come over to the Astra Militarum forum for all your questions! Most of us don't bite.
WarriorFish
Those who do bite get told off by the commissariat and put on clean up duty ;)

If he wants to sell a spleen, he could also look into the (awesome) Death Korps of Krieg line from Forge World.
Quixus
I think with Anvil Industry you can make some nice WW1 style guardsmen too. Might only cost a bit of liver - and that organ regrows.
Brother Lunkhead
Welcome to the B&C...… you have chosen well IG is a fine choice for an army and lends itself well to original lore. You'll have loads of references here to help you and lots of folks to bounce your questions and ideas off of. Hope you have lots of fun with the hobby
Excessus
Welcome! Don't worry about your motor skills, I remember seeing a thread in the forge somewhere about how to deal with things like that.
