Ultramarinebo
I've been interested in creating a unique 'inquisitor' style list for 30k since the release of Daemons. Have really tried to think outside the box with this one. Not expecting to win tournaments but would like it to pose a challenge. Primary Detachment: World Eaters (Loyalist) HQ Legion Centurion (Warlord) - Primus Medicae - Power Fist - Artificer Armour - Refractor Field - 120pts Gahlan Surlak - FnP 4+ - Exhortation of Butchery - 110pts TROOPS 11x Legion Tactical Marines - Augmented Inductii - Close Combat Weapns (Chain Axes Strength 5) - Power Fist (Strength 10) - Gahlan - 175pts 11x Legion Tactical Marines - Augmented Inductii - Close Combat Weapns (Chain Axes Strength 5) - Power Fist (Strength 10) - Centurion - 175pts 11x Legion Tactical Marines - Augmented Inductii - Close Combat Weapns (Chain Axes Strength 5) - Power Fist (Strength 10) - 175pts FAST ATTACK Terrax Assault Drill - 2x Heavy Flamers - Legion Tactical Marines - 100 Terrax Assault Drill - 2x Heavy Flamers - Legion Tactical Marines - 100 Terrax Assault Drill - 2x Heavy Flamers - Legion Tactical Marines - 100 Allied Detachment: Sisters of Silence HQ Jenetia Krole - 150 ELITES 10x Oblivion Knight Cadre Raptor Guard - Execution Blades - 170 TROOPS 8x Vigilator Cadre - Execution Blades - 1x Hand Flamer - Jenetia - 126 8x Vigilator Cadre - Execution Blades - 1x Hand Flamer - 126 DEDICATED TRANSPORTS Kharon Pattern Acquisitor - Vigilators - 125 Kharon Pattern Acquisitor - Vigilators - 125 Kharon Pattern Acquisitor - Oblivion Knights - 125 Some things to note: Strengths: The World Eaters Tactical Marines are all at +1 Strength and have various levels of FnP due to Augmented Inductii. Gahlan's boys have the potential to dish out an outrageous 5 attacks per model on the charge (Extra CC + Charge + Rage + Exhortation of Butchery) which includes the juiced up Power Fist of the Sarge. Using the Terrax, I'd be deep striking them into the thick of the enemy deployment or to saturate objectives. The Sisters are where things get interesting... The whole detachment will be fearless, infiltrating and causing major issues for any psyker based opponent. Any Daemon close to either Jenetia or the Oblivion Knights will be suffering -1T which will synergy well with the +1S choppy of the World Eaters. Weaknesses: Major lack of ranged Anti Tank (particularly AV14). Would generally struggle to take down flyer heavy lists. Overall This is a glass cannon, horde-based, melee heavy, alpha strike approach to 30k and I haven't really seen a list like it yet. I will be proxying the Kharon Acquisitors with stealth painted Valkyries. Interested to see thoughts on this list, I can't really tell if it's casual or slightly competitive. Lautrec the Embraced
Interesting. Those have to be the scariest tacticals I've seen. But unless I missed something, both Primus Medicae and Gahlan are Support Officers and therefore not eligible to fill compulsory HQ choices. Ultramarinebo
Interesting. Those have to be the scariest tacticals I've seen. But unless I missed something, both Primus Medicae and Gahlan are Support Officers and therefore not eligible to fill compulsory HQ choices. As far as I can tell, Centurions count as a compulsory choice. Gahlan acts as the non-compulsory. Based on the books I own this list is totally legal despite being unusual. In my mind I'm deviating from the fluff, I'm seeing the Augmented Inductii and Sisters of Silence as Inquisitorial Henchmen. Lautrec the Embraced
Primus is not a Centurion. He is a Consul. Some consuls have additional rules (like Legion Support Officer) that override normal Centurion rules. Consuls like Praevian, Librarian and Primus Medicae are meant to be taken as the second HQ, hence they're Support Officer. And since Gahlan also has the same rule, they can't be your only HQ choices. This shouldn't pose much problem. Instead of Primus you can take a regular centurion with the same loadout and an Apothecary Detachment as an Elite choice. Costs the same. Besides, Primus Medicae also are no longer allowed to take a Fist... Ultramarinebo
Thanks for the information mate, much appreciated. As you can tell, I'm a pretty sloppy casual gamer! JDizzle
I was going to add that Surlak is a traitor only option, but bizarrely, he's missing that line of text; it's not in the FAQ either. Also consider the Inductii won't be scoring.
