Tzaangor Enlightened with Great Bows

Recommended Posts

I am looking to add an outrider detachment to my army

I am looking to include 3 x units of 3 Tzaangor Enlightened with Great Bows + Shaman + Ahriman

I have not used them before and I would like to know what other people experiences are.

Obviously The shaman buffs them and has a physic power for relatively cheap.

They are an easy target for first strike etc

But I think they would make good units to fly around for objectives and harass enemy units for cheap.

They can do a lot of damage but they're very fragile. I use them often, and the auto wounding means they can be used to threaten pretty much anything at least somewhat. They're much more damaging with spears but also less likely to make it in.

Use the stratagem to swap out a power and give the shaman prescience. Then 50% of your attacks automatically wound, that is a helpful tool to have. But if you like close combat, do the same with spears and a mutalith to buff their AP and suddenly even Knights get nervous.

I agree with Tyriks. Basically they are a harassment unit that can move pretty fast if need be. Don't expect too much from them. The Shaman is the real deal of the bunch and he's going to helping Tzaangors a lot too (if you end up using them in the future.)
