Claws are good I maintain. But you need to see them not as a damage dealing weapon, but a disruption weapon. Turning a Warlord 90⁰ on a first fire, after it moves ruins that Lord's turn. Same with turning a Reaver.

If you cause damage on top, bonus.

Shock Lances however are garbage.

Random question im pondering as i need to grab another arm for a brawler warlord otherwise covered in gatling guns (pew). Plasma or Grav? I can see definite advantages to both but apparently my brain is determined to be wrong a lot recently so im doubting my opinion :P

Plasma would be my choice. The Grav is interesting, but it’s only two shots and I would rather have the template, even if I can’t call my shots. Not to say that the Grav isn’t worth it, just that I have more experience with the Plasma and it’s always done the job well for me.

Just saw this, sorry. I'd also go with plasma for sure. A Sunfury and a bunch of gatlings is a highly effective brawler load-out.

Grav is just a bit awkward with only two shots. Most of the time only one of those will hit and then the maximum you can do is two points of structural damage. On the other hand the Sunfury tends to get several hits and do a bunch of damage, leaving a location vulnerable to targeted shots. Many, many engines have died to the one-two punch of plasma making a big hole and a macro gatling finishing them off.
