dice4thedicegod
From a fluff point of view, I’d like them to work. And the psychic damping is useful... but in all other ways (cost, tabletop role, cp generation) they seem to be an inefficient choice for custodes. And when our forces cost as much as they do, it’s hard to fit in 300 points of fluff that could have gone on Vertus praetors. rcoon
Flamers. Three squads crammed into their rhino, advance down the side of the board and then unload the flamers into a vaguely useful target. They're utterly pointless if your opponent has no psykers, as other flamer units are just plain better. Overall they're just a bad choice, but if forced, I'd just throw in a tonne of flamers. dice4thedicegod
Yeah, I’m kinda thinking of greatswords and flamers in a rhino. And then a cheap squad with bolters that can sit on an objective . It would be nice and fluffy to field... but at 277 points, there are a billion more efficient things that could be fielded. burningsky25
I've started taking sisters of silence in my last 4 or 5 games and I've found them to be a competent addition. Initially I took them because I was facing a lot of psychic heavy matchups such as demons, tyranids, and eldar where they saved my bacon against smite spam and helped shutdown the psychic phase when comboed with a Culuxes. In other matchups when they don't serve a major role protecting from smite they're still cheap objective holders that are difficult to shift from cover. It's probably not as good as similar objective holders that also generate CP, but if you're often losing units from smite and other psychic powers they'll absolutely change the game, and in other matchups they're still superior to not having any cheap objective holders. To that end I use them for their utility, not their damage. I've run 3 or 4 squads of bolter girls in my lists, and one game I tried a single sword squad which never saw action. I expect I'll continue to try use them together as they're moderately effective, and supremely cool together with custodes.
