Fajita Fan
I see people doing double flamers, is there an advantage to that? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357488-usefulness-of-twin-flamers/ Share on other sites
Dragonlover
It's possibly an ok ambush unit? Also not needing to roll to hit is always handy I guess. Sherrypie
Twinferno is good because if you're going close enough to flame, you might as well do it all the way. The weapon itself is also reasonably good against most things while being cheap. No, beyond 2" it just causes autohits against the shields. That's still six hits, which isn't nothing, if stripping is needed. Mandragola
I'm pretty sure it's a bad idea if I'm honest. It costs the same as a plasma/VMB warhound and it just doesn't do anything like as much damage - even wihtin 8". It forces you to go close, with is both extremely dangerous and highly predictable. And even if you manage to get inside something's shields the two flamers probably don't hit the same location, so you cause pretty minor damage to two places - and almost certainly no crits. I've had a flamer/VMB warhound run inside a warlord's shields and light it on fire. I took no damage at all and the VMB couldn't damage anything. If that had been a blastgun on maximal fire it would probably have been a very different story. Beren
Its been split off from the defunct general discussion thread. I think you wrote that after I posted a list with one in it. My inclusion of one was because I already had two plas/vmb warhounds and I distrust turbolasers on Warhounds but wanted something else for variety's sake rather than tactical value. Chopsticks
Inferno cannon is a good weapon to pair up with Plasma, but need dedicated flamer unit? Bring acheron instead, Acheron Knights do the job better while also move faster and can provide solid melee. They're also good unit to guard titan against oncoming knights. Noserenda
Ive got a pair of double inferno warhounds and they are great fun to run with, they tend to drive knights away and generally act as a distraction carnifex. Theyve burned down a reaver before and when we play on Urban terrain they hilariously burn down collateral buildings too :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/357488-usefulness-of-twin-flamers/#findComment-5358647 Share on other sites
