Invictor Tactical Warsuit - up for pre-order!

Recommended Posts

So, the Invictor Warsuit is up for pre-order. The kit is gorgeous (imo) as are its rules. I know when it was first leaked there was a large group of folks that were very negative about it. However, as the last two weeks have progressed, the disposition towards it seems to be shifting from majority negative to majority positive.

So my question is this: How are you voting with your wallet?

  1. I don't care for the aesthetic/rules, and I will not be ordering the kit
  2. I like the kit/rules, but for other reasons (finances) I will not be ordering the kit
  3. I will be ordering 1 Invictor Tactical Warsuit
  4. I will be ordering 2 Invictor Tactical Warsuits
  5. I will be ordering 3+ Invictor Tactical Warsuits

Would a mod mind changing this into a poll? Me personally, i'm a huge fan of it. I don't have my physical books on hand, but the flamer variant is I think 131 points fully equipped, and I believe I will be going the Option 5 route - using all 3 together as a "Triplets of Terror" for a pretty solid distraction carnifex for sub 400 points.

Love to hear your thoughts!

2. I like it, but won't buy it just yet.

For one, I refuse to buy the new codex and models until the relevant supplements are out. GW thinks drawing it out will give them more money? Most certainly not from me.

Second reason is that I just cleared most of my backlog for the Raptors, and GW starts replacing the stuff I just painted up with more fitting/specialized versions. Kinda sucks away the motivation when a significant part of your recent work just became a shelf duster. I just refuse to paint up any more olive for the next few months. Which leads me to reason number 3...

It's time for Armies on Parade, and my Raptors are already used up. I'll add to my AdMech primaris and imperial knights to get a nicely filled board, and when that is done I'll get my AdMech up to speed with the new hovertanks. When I'll go back to Raptors, no idea, but they are the only army project that fits with the new Invictors.

I don't think they are drawing them out due to money issues.  I think gw is having a serious im/export issue with there book publisher in china and as a result they are coming in a more spaced out method then they would like given it will be October probably before we see more books.

But back to the topic:

Probably going to pick up 1 to see how the kit is and see if that weapon arm can be easily magnetized it looks like it can.  The only thing i am still not really sure on is if it should be auto cannon or flamer.

I will get at least one, possibly two, but not until I clear out some of my backlog. I use a Kanban board to help track what I have, what's in progress, and what's done:

I need to get through some of that before I look at purchasing new models as lowering my backlog is a goal that I have. I bought a lot of stuff when I first started and I've realized I didn't need half of what I bought. A lot of what i need to work on is stuff that I'm painting for Betrayal at Calth so I'm not as concerned about getting that out of the way.

I think at a minimum I need to get my 5 Hellblasters, Phobos Captain, 3 Reivers, and 5 Infiltrators painted up before I buy any more models.

2, for now. I like the crunch and concept but the aesthetic I'm on the fence about. I dont like the dock crane operator pose for the pilot. I want to see some closed canopy conversions of it first. Anything that hides the pilots pose or a new pose.

I don't like that the barrels on the autocannon arm look like another pair of heavy stubbers. Then again, that could be fixed with some parts from the bits box.

Also I'm not sure about the exposed pilot.

Got enough unpainted models currently, may grab one at a later time.

it is the same pin as the redemptor so if you core out that pin and place 2 magents on either side and make them flush you can have a quick swap.

Why not just leave the pins in that case? I'm working on a redemptor and didn't see a need to magnetize because of the pins?

With the full kits the weapons slot in at the elbow that's the joint you have to magnetise

Actually an early voxcast or warhammer live they discuss how the instruction writer suggested to the model designer to include a second pin just for magnetising
