I have a query as I think it would make a good Raptor CT. Does Master Artisan activate if you've used a Captain and Lt. for rerolls?

You cannot reroll a single dice more than once. So you could use captain and LT for rerolling 1s, and Master Artisan to reroll failed results other than 1s (2s to hit/wound mostly).

Each dice can only be rerolled once. That being said, since SM normally hit on 3s, you can reroll ones from Capt/Lt then reroll a 2 from artisans.

Alright guys, with rumours of the next 2 supplements being Raven Guard and Iron Hands, i'm going to be holding off any purchases until we get our codex. I'm really hoping we get some special CC primaris units

Well, I've played the game against Tau and I'm sorry to inform you that I have zero nntel on the new units performances. I literally defeated myself in the deployment phase. Long story short : I screwed my deployment and lost all the new stuff I had (Invictors, Incursors and even the Eliminator Sergeants...)

 

Lesson learned : always double-check my deployment strategy!

That’s rough but easy to do. So many variable to account for. Not just your own units and strategy but your opponents as well.

An easy mistake to make. It's the most important part of the game, and its even more unforgiving for a Raven Guard player. I often feel like at the end of the deployment phase I can reliably pick who will win and who will lose (with the exception being Seize).

Yes, deployment is critical for us.

 

@Dracos : frankly, I was setting up my force (I deployed second as we played CA Maelstrom) with most of my Concealed Position units on the opposite side of his heavy hitters when something went wrong with my brain and I switch everything up. For some reasons I thought I could either seize the initiative or wether the storm of 3 Riptides and 3 Broadsides. Obviously I was very wrong.

 

The rest of the game was a struggle but I almost made it a draw. This lets me think that I could have pulled a win without the deployment screw up. Assaulting Tau looks like an exercise in futility though...

Yeah I had a buddy with big Tau army. It was a real lesson on how to avoid lethal fire power and still maneuver in a way to apply your own before assaulting. I suspect I am woefully out of practice. :)
