Emailing the 40k FAQ team for Primaris Conversion options

With the new Space Marine codex I have to say I'm pretty happy with the book, even with the delay in supplements, save for one small detail: the lack of customization options. We have a series of upgrade kits that open up a number of options for the Intercessor Sergeants, but no one else, so I decided to email GW's 40k FAQ team (40kfaq@gwplc.com) to try and hopefully see it changed:

"With so many upgrade kits opening up conversion opportunities for Intercessor Sergeants many of us have been hoping those could be extended to other sergeants and characters as well. We'd love to be able to take chainswords, powerswords, powerfists or thunderhammers more freely on our other Primaris Sergeants and the characters (namely the Captains, Lieutenants, and Ancients). With so many great upgrade kits coming with options to swap out many of us where hoping they'd be added into the codex as options for Primaris characters.

Could we please have those options added in?

Sincerely,

Matt Austin

I know one request for this isn't enough though, so I'm reaching out to see if others would email the FAQ team as well to see if we can make a bit of a wave and get GW to let us have some more freedom with the Primaris.

I mean, is a Salamanders Captain even a Salamander if he can't take a Thunderhammer?

Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to email in. Hopefully they see there is a desire among the player base to do more with the kits they sell us and it leads to more options for us to use.

I was just thinking about this today. There's a difference between a unit that straight doesnt exist (the old nid spores) vs something that does exist and even has dedicated conversion kits like primaris do.

They sell the parts, they just as aren't in the one blister pack. The new LT up for preorders even has totally separate arms. And would make for a great conversion base.

Count me in for some friendly input to the team.

Every bit helps!

Agreed. Sent them an e-mail, for whatever that is worth.

Worst they'll say is "no" so I figure it can't hurt to ask. Could add a lot more flavor to the army and help us get the feeling of our respective chapters across.

I'm still baffles how Dark Angels got a Chaplain with a Powerfist before either the Imperial Fists or Crimson Fists, and it's been my hope since I could finally have one in my army, so I've got fingers crossed on this.
