Link2edition
Random question: can you shoot heavy weapons and still declare a charge? Or am I getting Heresy in my 40k again? I don't know why you wouldn't be able to. Edit: if you are using the banner, which you should be, you will want your heavy weapons out of close combat so they can shoot if they die, so while I would always charge with the Sword Brethren, Devs will only charge if they can wipe out their target in one round. Captain Idaho
10 Ultramarines Tactical Marines with Plasma, Combi Plasma and Grav Cannon is pretty mean for fairly cheap. Tactical Doctrine works well of course but Sons of Guilliman gives full re-rolls. RayJ
Ultramarines can pull off some similar stuff, but they play differently enough that you'd want to change things up for those differences in playstyle. Though cassius knowing 3 litanies and using 2 per turn gives you a ton of flexibility. He's going to be a great unit in a drop pod, regardless of if you're putting something down for shooting or melee (or both). Ultramarines also have an alternate banner relic that gives all guys in 6" +1 attack, and the chapter ancient defaults to 9" on the death shot distance. Just remember litanies have to be done at the start of the round, so until we get an errata you can't use them on a turn 1 drop. I had grimaldus in there because one of his is always on. Just checking if you're aware that Litanies don't work out of a Drop Pod, and that even if they did, the wording of Catechism won't allow it to work out of a Drop Pod either? I am not getting the new codex, until the Raven Guard supplement drops.
