C:SM Allies and stratagems (post codex v2)

So taking some information from another source, Codex SM has had some stratagem re-writes that include Adeptus Astrates key words in them. With these new options, what do you guys think about moving back to space marine allies with our deathwatch?

 

Maybe we're approaching tournament talk here but I've got a feeling were going to see some combinations with the new units anyways. That Invictus warsuit is going to be popular with it's 12" heavy flamer.

 

I don't know all the combos but for instance bringing a cheap ultramarine battalion (chaplain, LT, scouts?) and deathwatch battalion... use the damage reducing stratagem on a deathwatch relic contemptor dreadnaught to keep them alive longer? Or use the ignore heavy weapons to fire off some weapons on a damaged redemptor or contemptor dreadnaught, but still enjoying the reroll 1 tactics because it's deathwatch?

 

Not fully flushed out but hopefully you see where I'm going with this. Not to mention we can go into custom chapter tactics for the chosen units, making them either a distraction or fire support while the DW unit's maneuver.

I’m thinking the C:SM strats are not meant to be used on C:DW units. If wording now makes that seem possible, I’d expect the two week faq to clarify that. The same changes were made with the Eldar soup armies as well, so I wouldn’t build a list based on that.

Building a list digitally/on paper is fine, but yes I agree with the wisdom of not buying/painting new models until the FAQ/Errata drops.  DW are in a very weird place with the new Codex and I expect much to evolve over the next couple weeks.
