playing successor chapter with Supp

Hi,

i´ve a question.

while reading the rules for Ultamarine Supplement there is a part:

"otherwise choose a founding chapter that best fits your successors chapter character"

Does it mean : "otherwise  Play another rules ....you cannot Play the ultramarine supp"

OR:

".... otherwise choose 2 chapter tactics and you are a UM successor anyway"

its a bit confusing how to read this part. Especially i am not a native english Speaker AND i dont trust translations - dont read german rules so far.

If the successor chapter you have Chosen is one established in the Background of our publications, ist founding chapter will often be known (for example Mortifactors Chapter is known successor of the ultramarines). If the successor chapter you have Chosen does not have a known founding chapter but has the inheritorss of the primarch successor tactic, and you selected the chapter tactic of a first founding chapter is a successor of the first founding chapter. Otherwise, choose a founding chapter that best fits your successor chapter´s character.

Seems pretty clear cut, buddy. You decide to be a successor, so you choose your traits...

Using Ultramarines as an example:

1. Are you a known successor of the Ultramarines Chapter? Then you're officially one of their successors with the relevant supplement rules.

2. Did you choose to use the Inheritors of the Primarch trait? If so, whichever trait you chose means you're that chapter's successor and gain the relevant supplement rules. If you chose Codex Discipline, you're an Ultramarine chapter.

3. Otherwise, if you aren't an official successor in fluff, and if you didn't select Inheritors of the Primarch, then you can choose to be an Ultramarine successor.

All of this happens after you select your successor chapter tactics.
