Tactics for Scythes of the Emperor

Hey mates. While I am primarily a White Scars player, I am seriously tempted to field a 2nd Space Marine Chapter that can be utilized for more flexibility and I have always been a huge fan of the Scythes of the Emperor. While using the Ultramarines Tactics and Supplement is obviously an option as they are a successor Chapter of the Ultramarines, I am curious to test out other Chapter Tactics from the list for Successors, and with that being the case, which ones do you think would git the Scythes best?

What a great army theme, good job, Brother.  I also agree with:

Preferred Enemy: Tyranids

And to go with that I'd suggest, for both fluff and gameplay reasons:

Tactical Withdrawal

It's not just about the Scythes, but the remaining survivors of the Scythes that had to retreat with their geneseed, then continue to preserve their numbers until the Primaris came.  Because aside from their war with the Tyranids, the Scythes are known for barely surviving that war.  Tactical Withdrawal also complements Preferred Enemy by letting you initiate charges whenever, so you can constantly get both that Preferred Enemy bonus and Shock Assault bonus.  It's not WAAC but it looks to be a good combo.

Echoing the above; if you're doing Scythes of the Emperor, you have to pick Preferred Enemy: Tyranids.

I mean, obviously you don't have to if you don't want, but if you don't pick it, you're kind of ignoring what makes the Scythes cool in the first place.

you could go with Indomitable (only lose 1 to morale fails) or stalwart (1 or 2 to wound always fails) together with preferred enemy:Tyranids.

I do like the Stalwart one as it would fit their toughness and mentality after everything they went through. Preferred Enemy Tyranids is an obvious choice but one that is situational at best imo. And they have been doing a lot more than fighting Tyranids ever since they where reinforced with Primaris Marines.

Yes, Preferred Enemy is very obviously situational and most of the time you aren't going to derive any benefit from it. But you asked which tactics fit the Scythes best, not which ones are most useful to you in the majority of your games!

Not denying that lol.
