So I have been an Imperial Guard player since 4th Edition, but when the Conquest magazines came out I decided it would be a good time to get myself a Primaris focused Space Marine force.

Since the Silver Templars were introduced in the Conquest magazines I decided they would be perfect.

And here we are, 10ish months later, with me deciding to start a progress blog. Due to the Silver Templars being an Ultramarines successor I thought here would be perfect.

So I'm currently pretty much up to date on the Conquest magazine models, though I have started supplementing them with another box of Intercessors, Aggressors and Hellblasters here or there. Current undertaking is a Repulsor Executioner, which is on it's way to being done, highlights and detail still to go.

Welcome to the Ranks of the Adeptus Astartes and the Primogenitors Brother:biggrin.: Your Silver Templars look great:thumbsup:

The Repulsor Executioner is a bit of a beast to build and paint. Yours is coming along fine..... looking forward to seeing the finished product.

These are looking fantastic! Keep at it with that Repulsor - it's a great and useful unit.

Dreads look really nice, and the infantry are excellent.

What chapter tactic combination will you use, or do you intent do stick with the same one as Ultras?

Have decided to go full in on being a Successor Chapter as there are some quite fitting traits to take.

The lore for the Silver Templars points to them being a little obsessed with 1 on 1 dueling their opponents, so Duelists will be a must take.

Think I will go Master Artisans for the other half to represent their totally normal bond they have with their weapons. :whistling:

Been umm-ing and err-ing over whether to get a Sicaran for ages. Finally pulled the trigger. Arrived on Saturday, was finished by Sunday. Quite a fun one to build, especially for resin, though it did manage to take a chunk out of my finger when a bit i was gluing slipped.

Anyway without further a-do;

Have had a bit of a break from Space Marines, though back to frantically painting up some Invictor Warsuits, two down, one to go!

In the mean time, been playing around with my lightbox to see try and get some better shots.

Found a chainsword from an old devastator squad sprue in my bits box and did a bit of bashing. Finally got some representation for all those phantom chainswords our sergeants have.

Finally, I managed to find a decent Thunder Hammer in my bits box so now I have a Veteran Sergeant with Thunder Hammer;

So I got bored today and decided I'd do a step by step log of my dirty quick painting of my Assault Intercessors for anyone that was interested.

Here goes!

ST Painting Image No.1

Undercoated with Leadbealcher Spray

ST Painting Image No.2

Got all the reds and oranges in place, Wazdakka Red for the chainsword, Mephiston Red for the bolt pistol, and Wild Rider Red for the eyes.

ST Painting Image No.3

Neatened up the oranges and reds then laid down the Abaddon Black base to the armour and armour joints, along with the browns to the belt and holster/pouches.

ST Painting Image No.4

Healthy wash of Nuln Oil applied to armour, leathers and chainsword. Agrax Earthshade applied to bolt pistol.

ST Painting Image No.5

Everything that will be yellow must be white first. Used Wraithbone for this.

ST Painting Image No.6

Iyanden Yellow contrast applied to chest aquila and Valejo Sun Yellow applied to shoulder plates.

ST Painting Image No.7

Finally added the 3rd company colouring to knee pad and added the gold details (Retributor Armour) with an Agrax Earthshade wash.

That's done for me! Now it joins the queue to be based and decaled when all the others are painted.

Superb mate, your army looks fantastic. I'm going to have to check out the Silver Templars lore, I thought Dorn's bricklayers had the copyright on all things Templar.

Just in case you haven't heard, your boys are getting their own Codex in this months White Dwarf.

Taking a picture of this one has confused me slightly. I have 3 monitors and the colour balance is different on each one so no idea if this pic looks good, but hey, here's my Primaris Techmarine;

I like it. I see what you mean about the picture. What I would recommend is if you are taking this with your phone camera, just see what happens if you hold up a white card behind the figure. Look into your phone screen and see if you put a bright white card behind the figure, if it starts adjusting the colour.

  • 1 year later...

It has been an age since I last updated this and to be fair most of the reason has been getting distracted by other projects. But i have completed my first ST model in a while which is the new Gravis captain.

I have magnetised all of the melee option so can switch out nice and easily.
