General Strike
https://i.imgur.com/0l4Obo5.jpg So I picked this up today on an impulse, always wanted to do a Wraith army. How should I build these guys? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/358081-so-i-did-a-thing-advice-on-how-to-build/ Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
Unfortunately I can't give you any competitive advice, but two Wraithcannon squads and one D-Scythe squad seem to be a good starting place. I personally dig the swords on the Wraithlords, with a couple of bright lances. Karhedron
It depends on what else you have in your army to some extent. I like to build my Wraithlords fast and cheap with 2 Shuricannons and a Glaive. They can Advance and still fire since all their weapons are Assault and they can usually get into combat on T2 and start mincing stuff. They are not very expensive and if you run a pair of them, chance are at least one will make contact with the enemy. This build works best if you have 2 other things. Firstly, you need another source of dedicated anti-tank shooting since you are giving up the option to take Brightlances. Secondly, ideally you want some other fast stuff moving up at the same time. A couple of Wave Serpents full of Wraithguard fit the bill very nicely. As for the Wraithguard themselves, I tend to run them shooty but other people have reported good results with the choppy versions. Given the current state of the meta (lots of heavy targets and lots of heavy weapons to deal with them) I would be tempted to go Axe/Shield for extra durability and hitting power. Guys with D-Scythes work really well but need a Wave Serpent. D-Cannons however can make good use of the Webway stratagem due to their 12" range. A squad that can appear with pocket lascannons are a real threat to armoured targets but a canny opponent will use screening to try and block this so they may need some massed anti-infantry shooting to clear them a landing space on your first turn. General Strike
So I ended up doing this: 1x Wraithblade: Axes and Shields 2x Wraithguard: D-Scythes 1x Wraithlord: 2x Flamers, Glaive, Missile Launcher 1x Wraithlord: 2x Flamers, Glaive, Bright Lance I plan to use the wraithlords as DS deterrent and mobile weapons platforms. The guard and blades will end up in Wave Serpents. I am thinking two more squads of Guard and one more of Blades, and three guardian squads.
