FormelyKnownAsSmashyPants
Title says it all, what’s your favourite miniature/model/kit from each edition. Add photos if you like. My list is as follows: RT 1st edition: the RTB01 box, the kit that started of the whole Space Marine line all those years ago. 2n edition: Eldar Viper (this kit, along with the Falcon and IG Chimera and Leman Russ still hold their age incredibly well. Although the Chimera and LR were recut in 5th edition). 3rd edition: The classic Jes Goodwyn SM tactical squad. 4th edition: Baneblade. 5th edition: Sanguinary Guard. 6th edition: RW Black Knights. 7th edition: Cypher. 8th edition: Store anniversary SM Captain with PP and PF. Other models worth mentioning: RT 1st edition: Rhino Mk 1 and LR Mk1. 2nd edition: Pretty much all the SM special characters like Tycho, Azrael, Calgar and others. 3rd edition: The current Rhino and LR 4th edition; The SM special characters from the fourth Ed codex, including Calgar’s Honour Guard, and the Mastrs of the Chaptr box. 5th ediotion: Lemartes and the Death Coy. 6th edition: The Lord Executioner/JP SM captain. 7th edition: Skarrbrand. 8th edition: Pretty much all the DG and The updated CSM kits. What’s everyone else’s? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/358092-favourite-modelkit-from-each-edition/ Share on other sites

Daimyo-Phaeron Lenoch
I started in 6th, so some of this may be the wrong edition. Early RT/thru 5th: Old Lasplas Razorback, beaky Techmarines, and Terminator Librarian. 5th:Land Raider Redeemer 6th: don’t know what was released 7th: dunno if he’s my fav model (again, I have bad memory for this stuff), but Guilliman was really well designed and looks pretty good, esp with his helm on 8th: Seraptek Heavy Construct. ‘Nuff said. Magos Takatus
Sadly the years have all blurred together over time since I stopped playing 40k in 2nd edition. This is the best I can do. 1st ed: Eldar Warlocks 2nd ed: Warp Spider Exarch 3rd ed: Flayed Ones 4th ed: Autarch models (various) 5th ed: Dark Eldar Scourges 6th ed: Crimson Hunter 7th ed: Belisarius Cawl 8th ed: Skorpius Dunerider That was a pretty tough list to write since it seems there's no real centralized archive for model releases by year or by edition, most results I got focused on the rules rather than the miniatures. I was shocked the Imperial Knight kit didn't make the cut but for me 7th edition was the year Adeptus Mechanicus (Arkhan) landed so I couldn't leave that out. I was also tempted to put in the plastic Deff Dread and Killa Kan kits but Eldar had a scorching hot overhaul in the same edition That vote could easily have gone to any of the Aspect Warrior sets with Fire Dragons and Striking Scorpions being my favourites. Strangely, I drew a blank for 8th edition and I was trying to work out what was released apart from Death Guard and Primaris stuff so I settled for the weird little landing craft that could. I feel like I should have put the Intecessor kit in there since it's the new equivalent of the legendary RTB01 sprue but Skitarii Rangers are some of my favourite models and I got to stick them inside the Dunerider. There's probably a ton of great models that I have missed but I'll just have to make do with this list. I was more interested in the Blood Angel half personally but it was great for Dark Angel collectors too. Closet Skeleton
Blood Angels got the Baal Predator and Honour Guard Squad in 3rd ed so Dark Angels must have gotten something. Was it just the metal robed veterans and the tactical squad with the plasma cannon and metal robed sergeant?
