Dreadnought conversion question.

Recommended Posts

I'm considering converting a Chaplain dread to have some cheeky fun with the new Raven Guard Psychic power (Basically Da Jump, but only usable on characters. But it doesn't say the character has to be Infantry).

I just had a very quick and basic question so I don't spend a bunch of money on parts in order to find out it won't work.

Does the waist piece of a Contemptor line up with the bottom of a classic dreadnought fairly well, or is there a lot of converting necessary to make it work?

I'm thinking of using a classic dreadnought body with Contemptor legs to make it look a little more unique.

If you're using the resin legs it'll mate up fairly easily as the contemptor legs have a smaller domed connector to the body than the normal dread legs. The plastic contemptor would need to be assembled and then cut in half at the waist. Blood and skulls Industry on ebay also make a resin set of "mechanoid legs" that are very reminiscent of the contemptor style that includes a mount specifically for boxnaught bodies (as well as optional studded lower leg armor pieces).

Cool. Thanks.

I'll keep this in mind for the future. But I found a recaster that has the Chaplain dread. I would normally not consider a recast, but my stance differs a little when it's an out of print model that's impossible to find otherwise.
