BlueBiscuit Raider
I've got myself 2 of the Easy to Build plague marines trio from the Conquest 02, and I'm wondering how I should go about turning them into something more unique since i've already got those 3 sculpts builts as they are. In terms of extra parts I've only built 3 models out of the 7 plague marine box (a plasma gunner, a blight launcher marine and the flail marine), so I've got some bits to work with. Suggestions? Must do or don'ts? This will be my first time converting anything. MaliGn
If it is the same as the general easy to build kit on the he site I'd say you could start by mixing out heads, possibly whole arms with bits from the general plague marine kit. You could try mixing up the belly plates, but that might need green stuff, fortunately a bit of messy green stuff won't be too noticeable on a death guard model while you learn how to use it! Exilyth
Suggestions? Must do or don'ts? If using a knife: Have a medkit nearby, use a cutting mat to protect the surface you're cutting on and always cut away from your body. That aside, cutting through an arm between torso and shoulder let's you replace and/or repose that arm, which can help a lot with making poses more varied. Also: Cutting just before or after a joint tends to work better when recombining parts from different arms. Akylas
I've been working on converting plague marines. I started with a copy of the chaos side of dark imperium and a plague marine box. Because both sets are designed to fit a certain way I've found I have to either trim a lot or add slivers of plastic (often cut from sprues) to get arms to fit properly. PeteySödes
I'm a psycho so I always advise to attempt anything you have a vision for. If you fail, you learn and have a piece that you likely cant make worse thats begging to flex your GS muscles on. Most likely though you won't and will also learn I bet, but have a unique piece you can be proud of too. Don't rely too much on guides etc, trust your gut! Thats where the magic is.
