Ultramarine specific stratagems questions

I’ve a couple of quick rules interpretation questions for you guys.

First one is the Tactical Expertise strat. Whilst the Tactical doctrine is active rapid fire and assault weapons gain an extra AP on unmodified wound rolls if 6.

However the blurb in the main codex states that unless specified otherwise the bonus for the Tactical Doctrine is not cumulative with any other AP modifiers eg Storm of Fire warlord trait.

Does this mean this 2CP strat is essentially useless?

Second question regards the Martial Precision strat. Does it mean when a unit is chosen to make a shooting attack it gets to auto hit when it fires no matter how many shots eg. Whirlwind fires it’s Vengeance launcher 2D3 shots all of them auto hit or only one?

Thanks in advance

As per the FAQ, it does work as intended.

No, it is a single attack, as in, when you fire 2d3 Vengeance Launcher shots, let's say you roll 2 shots, you can make 1 of them automatically hit.

The core rules of the game work under the assumption that all rolls are made one at a time; fast rolling, which everyone does to remain sane, is simply time saving - it doesn't actually change how the rolls function. This wording is why the Sons of Guilliman Stratagem seems strange, but it's also for every attack the unit makes, because it's for each attack.

Thanks Kallas for clearing those up for me. I’m not near my rule book whilst away on hols so probably should have just looked up the shooting section myself when I get back.

I’ll also have to check out the FAQ which again I should have looked before posting.

Makes me wonder if Storm of fire warlord trait is worth it to pseudo keep all my heavies in Devastator Doctrine whilst the rest of the army is in Tactical which Ultras seem to be more geared towards.
