Might be more for CA but remove seizing on a 6

Was fairer/more fun when you alternated deploying units but if you play current CA rules and you each deploy your army in one go it seems unfair

Both have pros and cons to be honest. The "deploy entire army" is much quicker to do and doesn't give deep striking armies as much an advantage, however it does remove the fun to and fro gameplay element. The counter point to that however is the way first turn works with it being a much more fun concept as deploying first means you go first so you can sort of "i knew you knew that I knew" your opponent by positioning units in what seems sub-optimal places but in fact those are better positions as the opponent needs to deploy according to your opening volley.

The unit at a time approach rewards smaller elite armies however at the time it was merely a +1 to the roll to go first, not a hard "go first" which would of improved it I would think. It certainly was fun but to be honest sometimes it felt a little bad when your opponent could "Sand Bag" deploying the important stuff until later because they ether had deep strikers or a bunch of discard fodder of troops so despite having the bonus of better chance at first, you were still playing at disadvantage (so another reason to just pad out your army a little more).

As for seizing. Yea...not entirely sold on it. Because of how deployment goes, a good chunk of the time the person who thought they were going first had deployed as such (because why deploy according to a 17% chance?) but when it does happen it often in my experience blows out the player who got stolen from and really only ever feels good for the stealing player (not good design). Certainly think it should go though since GW only playtests by the seems with 3 crates of beers, 5 boxes of pretzels and a whole heap of not actually going hard on the game, likely to stick around because it feels fun for them.

So I'll just throw this out there since they put it into APOC...

I'd like to see a BETA rule with alternating activations. Include a download for tokens to print out for marking who's gone when. Assault phase will be messy and need tweaking but that is the one rule I really want to see in 40k. I hate not doing anything while my opponent takes way more time than me to move his horde army around the board. (I realize there are existing ways to speed that up). Having an alternating activation mechanic would make the game more engaging (for me) and make more decisions matter.
