I've joined a monthly escalation league at my FLGS start next month at 500points and going up by a few 100 each month.

Unfortunately this starts just before the new Sisters drop, but lucky for me I have exactly 500 points of metal Sisters that can stand in for now.

Here's what I'm taking for month #1 (500 points, must have 1 HQ and 2 troops min).

HQ - Celestine

Troop - 5x Battle Sisters, Flamer, Heavy Flamer combi-flamer and a Power Maul in a Rhino.

Troops - 5x Battle Sisters, Melta, Multi-melta, Combi-melta and Power Maul in a Repressor.

I've never used them before, so I need to dig out the beta codex from somewhere and have a read about how the acts of faith and stuff work.

Anyone got any tips or anything I need to know before I start running practise games in preparation for the tourney?

The theme for my Sisters army will be that they are protecting an ancient and mostly forgotten on cathedral on a snowy planet, so all the bases will have temple ruins and stone tiles with snow on them. When I saw the pillar bases was the exact height for Virydian I just went with it. She fits in with the others more this way. :smile.:

The last model for my escalation list arrived yesterday and I painted her up last night.

I used Contrast paints for the first time, and despite myself I am impressed. This was a quick and dirty 30 minute job and she looks tabletop ready, if not a little sloppy.

I'll tidy her up and add the snow before the event, but its nice to know I could get an entire army to this standard in an afternoon. :)

The only thing I'll say on the models front, apart from they look nice, is you've gone with the colour scheme of the 'Order of our Martyred Lady', one of the major orders with specific rules.

Now I'm NOT saying you can/should* only play that order, however just a word of caution other people might do - (its part of GWs GT rules if painted as X then use the rules of X)

*in fact I'd be a massive hypocrite if I did, my girls are painted the same way and I've play different orders all the time :p

That's fine, I've always chosen a colour scheme first and then used the rules that they reflect.

I knew the colour scheme I chose was one of the major orders, but I've no idea what their rules or fluff are.

Where can I get a hold of the beta codex? I can't keep up with all the GW book keeping these days.

Was it released as an index, part of a campaign book, an FAQ or was it released as a PDF?

Rules in beta dex is in last years chapter approved. (CA2018)...(pgs 69 -99)

to be honest I dont think its worth trying to track down a copy with the army box coming in Nov..*... battlescribe have all the sisters rules

* ok... E version on GWs site is £15, and has another 6 missions to play for both eternal war & maelstrom of war

I am loath to drop any money on any Sororitas stuff this close to the new release, but I'll need a copy for this escalation league to tide me over.

Looks like I'm dropping £15 for a digital book that will be redundant in 6 weeks. ^_^*

I'm lucky that I at least have the rules for the Repressor in the imperial armoury. lol

I'm not sure what to do for the gun casings, specifically for the bolters.

I've always traditionally gone with red for by BA and my BT, but I really like the Blanche-style yellow I used for Virydian and the big old multi-melta.

Is there anything anywhere that specifies what colour the gun casings should be?

going off the beta dex pics of OoOML ... GW have done a mix of Gold (sis Sups. Canoness etc) or black /silver for the line girls .... however I'd stick with your red as it goes and makes the girls pop (plus IIRC its the original colours :) )

Good job on the Retributor.

Will construction equipment be included in other bases, to show the Ecclesiarchy is attempting to rebuild the cathedral as its contribution to Imperial efforts to restore the Emperor's rule over the planet? Edited by Bjorn Firewalker

Well, I've sold a load of my Blood Angel stuff and I've got my FLGS to swear that he'll stash me one of the new Sisters sets when it releases.

I have no interest in the arcos that come with the set, and I don't like the ugly dude that comes with the penitent engine, but it will tide me over until the full release in February.

In the meantime, I'm getting what little plastic I have ready before the new box arrives.

I've got some gold spray coming in the post so I can finally start on St. Celestine (shes been on my shelf for well over a year).

Now I just need to decide if I'm going to write some silly fluff like I did for my Redeemers, or if I'll be more serious like I did with my Black Templars.

What do you guys prefer, funny Prattchett-esqe fluff, or serious lore-abiding fluff?

My twitter poll came out with a solid "silly fluff is more fun to read" result, so thats what I went for in the end.

Here's a little of what I have so far:

A Brief History:

The Order of the Glass Rose is a subsidiary convent of the Order of Our Martyred Lady.
Established on the arctic-planet of Chinchilla XII, The Priory of St. Rumpole is a small convent overseen by Prioress Agnea Plopps. The Priory’s original construction and purpose remains a mystery and its historic records have been marked top secret by the Ministorum, but judging by its remote location, the priory seems unlikely to have ever had any particular tactical or historical significance.

Aside from being a sanctified place of worship and home to a number of minor Imperial relics, (such as The Crown of St. Ogenya, The Glaive of Scoliosis, and of course the infamous Fishnets of Lesser Healing.) the Priory is a training ground for the Orphans taken from the Schola Progenium to be raised for the Order Millitant department of the Adepta Sororitas. The young women who are raised here and instilled with the Imperial doctrines of the Ecclesiarchy, trained in the art of war and (assuming all their chores are done) on the last Friday of the month, are given permission to stay up late and listen to 1 episode of the hit Imperial Vox-cast sitcom series “How I Met Your Mortarion”.

The only other noteworthy Imperial presence on Chinchilla XII is a small reserve regiment of the Astra Militarum, although it has been rumoured that Inquisitor *redacted* has a base of operations hidden deep within the planets icey mountains.

I'm still noodling ideas, I probably wont set anything in stone until I actually have the models in front of me.

Its hard to get a feel for the army before I own any actual units.

I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a starter box so I've been hard at work getting it all prepped for the full release next year.

Hey guys, I've been going to 40k events for 6-7 years now (never doing particularly well, but always having fun), and now my FLGS is hosting a Covid-Safe event in 5 weeks time.

I've been super exited to take my Sisters of Battle out to an event since they were released but since 2020 has been an absolute nightmare, I've not had the chance to take them anywhere so far.

The event is 3 games at 1,000 points, using the first 3 Incursion missions from the core rulebook (not the CA:2020 book).

Its only 1000 points and I'm really looking to go fluffy and fun rather than super competitive, so I'm thinking:

OoOML:

HQ:

1x Basic Canonness (babysitting the Exorcist)

1x Witch-Killer Canonness (Brazer of Holy Flame and Condemner Bolter)

Troops:
5x Battlesisters (Flamers)

5x Battlesisters (Storm Bolters)

5x Battlesisters (Storm Bolters)

Fast:

5x Melta Dominions (in a Rhino)

5x Serephim (with Inferno Pistols)

Elite:

9x Repentia (In reserves with a Mistress)

HeavY:

1x Exorcist.

Any tips / ideas on how to tweak my list?
