Warlord Trait: Lord/Princeps of Deceit

I want to make to know if anyone else sees this a gem? I want to use it to try by laying down Phobos and Scout units early in the drop when alternating, giving my muscle units late drops into solid positions. Then take three units I want to redeploy into better position.

1) Would a unit with Concealed Positions rule still be able to use this to still deploy in an alternate location 9" from the enemy/deployment zone?

2) If I had used a Stratagem to Infiltrate a unit like Intercessors, would that Stratagem still effect the Intercessors?

I don't know if I'm pushing the past the rules GW intended or exploring options meant to be used given the focus of our Codex's playstyle?

I can always Strike Aggressors from the Shadows but I'd like to see if other options are available, that don't necessarily burn as many CP.

It sounds like they took apart Lias Issodon’s rules and equipment only to pass his torn bits around the Raven guard supplement. Raven Guard as I have been seeing em these past few weeks have been more or less movement shenanigans army.

This warlord trait was changed in the codex to only effect phobos units. There was also an FAQ to state that when you redeploy, you cant use concealed positions (cant find the reference for that bit right now on mobile).

However, it does trigger at the same time as SFTS and Infiltrate, so I think you could do this first, then Infiltrate strategem after.

Well then. Thanks for the update I thought I'd seen that before but was hoping against it I guess. I could have handled it being Phobos only, but then to nerf the units Concealed Position. For a company that says it far out on the schedule, they seem to quite often find ways to have to rework in weeks what they had supposedly available to be tested for years.

I suppose it could still be of use for Eliminators with Sniper Rifles. They're range means you could use them to push forward to start deployment then pull back afterwards. I feel there's possibilities still, but far from what I had hoped.

Yea, it's not as strong at-first-glance, but as you mentioned it does have its applications.

Being able to re-deploy all your eliminators after deployment is finished to get clear LOS to characters

Being able to pull back all your Infiltrators AFTER you have force back your opponents forward (concealed) units

Relocating your incursors to alternate flanks/objectives to bait the opposition.

I see it being very valuable against armies like Orks/Tyranids that move very fast and want to use your forward operators to slingshot their advance.

Sadly (not sadly) we have a handful of great warlord traits, so it probably won't get used often. Master of Ambush is mandatory, imo. Shadowmaster and Swift and Deadly are both very good and things you can build around. I suspect The Imperium's Sword from the Vanilla book will be our main go-to to build with in conjunction with two of the above.

Could be neat to deploy things farther forward initially to threaten your opponents area at the beginning of the game, then pull them back after your opponent has deployed his units to counter yours.

Then use Infiltrators to move something else into position to kill what he placed to kill your units that aren't there anymore.

Yeah, I'm pretty devious sometimes.
