Weird...

Well here's the wording

Page 88, 89, 114, 118, 122 and 126 – Tank Commander,

Knight Commander Pask, Leman Russ Battle Tanks, Baneblade, Hellhammer and Armoury of the Imperium, demolisher cannon

Change Type characteristic to Heavy D6 and Abilities to ‘-’.

Yeah the page is messed up right now.  You need to sort by A-Z, then switch back to recent.

I'll have to check the numbers, but the Demolishers may overtake the Conqueror, especially with the FOTM IH Vehicles (which while probably see a nerf at some point, even if it's just how the abilities stack)

The good news is it works now I've changed machines :tongue.: Seems yet more is amiss too as the current document is under the 2019/04/ uploads folder so GW seem to be going round the houses for it...

The important thing is while this is a minor change and expected, it is still welcome :smile.: My Demolishers used to be real workhorses for my Guard albeit out of necessity at the time, but that gave me a real soft spot for them. Throwing pie plates o'doom around didn't hurt either :laugh.: It will be good to dust them off and give them some more game time :biggrin.:

I can see bringing one as a solid distraction unit now.

I brought one against my friend's Deathguard tonight, the FAQ literally dropped a few hours before our game. :p

He eats stuff like Plague Marines for breakfast but is still quite swingy. Was fun to use and drew a good amount of fire. Not sure if he really had a bigger impact damage-wise than the Executioner I would normally bring but he seemed like an option now. So good change overall, more viable options is always nice. :)

The Go Recon strat I needed explained first...had no idea people were using it in such a cheesy way.

I honestly don’t know who it is that is interpreting strats like Go Recon in such hideous ways, that they then need an FAQ like this...

Can’t you just imagine the guy answering the FAQ’s being issued a pillow to scream into when he sees questions like that?

Been spending a lot of time list building. Trying to figure out how to beat the boogeyman right now. The evil iron hands trip repulsor list.

You forgot the leviathan too ;)

Be curious to hear your thoughts and experiences in this thread

I think you ignore the leviathan as much as possible. Hes short ranged without much of a delivery method. My "plan" is trying to either ignore him or touch him early and often so he cant shoot.

I'll check out the marine thread. Not gonna lie, I thought I was in the what have your guard done today thread, lol.

Sad Vanquisher is still a trash cannon cause it's not mentioned in Codex: Primaris Space marines

To be fair, the vanquisher is supposed to be exceedingly rare. The only way to ensure that it won't be on every table top is to make it suck. The demolisher cannon still has an army that it will be useless against (necrons).

I have a shamefully little experience fighting necrons this edition not mentioning using a Demolisher against them. Could you tell me why our newly re-acquired toy will 'suck' against them?

Their armor has an ability where they can nullify an attack by rolling under the amount of damage done. This means that they're best killed by d3 or 2 damage weapons, whereas d6 damage weapons have a nasty habit of bouncing off because they hit too hard.

I could have been more specific with the thread title and op. However this was more directed at the faq changes, as opposed to general state of ig.

That thread certainly has merit if someone would like to start that. Keep in mind there is already a thread to discuss implications of the new space Marine cuffed and supplements.

In the meanwhile we can consider this conversation complete. If someone else notices a change in one of the navy faqs that impacts how guard play then feel free to put in a report on this topic and we can reopen the thread.
