Whitelion
https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Deathstrike_Cannon What do you think of this configuration? Should be the most powerful weapon ever mounted on a Titan, not even the Imperator class equips such powerful weapons (which I know of, but being new I know practically nothing). Marshal Rohr
I think this was pre-Imperator. Now Warlords aren't big enough to mount a ship cannon. Whitelion
in fact it is specified that it is a warlord class of 33 meters. I imagine that if it had been an imperator class they would not have needed to place the naval Macrocannon in place of the head, they would have placed it in place of the cathedral, a bit like the Warmonger Imperator variant Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/358901-navy-macrocannon-on-titan-warlord/#findComment-5400566 Share on other sites
Volt
https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Deathstrike_Cannon What do you think of this configuration? Should be the most powerful weapon ever mounted on a Titan, not even the Imperator class equips such powerful weapons (which I know of, but being new I know practically nothing). Completely pointless. It's a direct fire weapon so you can't arc shots long distances to avoid being caught in the blast radius, it's suicide to shoot at targets up close, and probably impossible to reload after the first shot. It's like the 40k version of the Sturmtiger, but even worse. Whitelion
I believe they have conceived it as a long-range and anti-fortification support weapon. After all, a macrocannone bullet is 42 exajoules from the canon, there are over 10 gigatons of power, it would devastate anything in a huge radius. I believe that it can be used in the rear, with a defense support troop, The opposing army would be decimated thousands of miles before engaging in battle. Bung
Isn't this essentially what the Ordinatus Armageddon is? No. Macro Canons are standard ship to ship canons which could be any sort of weapon (shells, plasma etc.) all had the same ingame effect. The Ordinatus Armageddon had a sawed-off version of a Nova Canon, which was / is a bigger class of weapon. Game example from BFG (Tabletop) a Macro Canon used normal dice like Bolters while a Nova Canon used the 5 Inch template (normal BFG Cruiser Modell was short over 3 Inches and described a 8 km long spaceship). Whitelion
The Armageddon Cannon of an Ordinatus seems to me to have been a plasma variant. The classic version of the nova cannon shoots projectiles from 50 meters in diameter accelerated to almost the speed of light, has an order of power included in the petaton scale, is devastating, destroys more ships in one shot. There is also a version that shoots vortex warheads and a version that shoots Grav Shells that create a real black hole that destroys everything with which it comes into contact. Are Verlo
The in-game effect was range 200cm, 10BPs and a -2 save mod. It also reduced the save on the «head location» by 1. Not all that impressive really, but it was in addition to the regular weapons. Usually the tradeoff was worth it: better firepower vs reduced save one one location. This was one misty trip down memory lane :-D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/358901-navy-macrocannon-on-titan-warlord/#findComment-5406204 Share on other sites
Whitelion
How much damage was inflicted in the game? The power should be enormous, being a macrocannon mounted on ships, we are talking about gigaton of energy, it should be superimposable to a Vengeance Cannon or a Hell Cannon of a Titan Imperator. But it is mounted on a Warlord. I would be curious to know if it is possible to mount other weapons too. If he had the chance to equip Apocalypse missile launchers on his shoulders, and a sunfury Annihilator and a Vulcan mega bolter (like cover fire) on his arms, it would be a devastating unit.
