In the next White Dwarf.

Looks like new fluff as well as updated rules. Three datasheets suggest it will be the same units though, with no new ones for an actual HQ for example, which is a shame.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Talons-keyword added to them that they can later add to Custodes as well, with some bespoke rules. And I think it'd be great if they aura would also affect demons in some way, similar to the Watchers of the Throne fluff. And it the Rhino got some unique ability that would also be cool.

But definitely excited. I have a bunch of them waiting for some attention. :)

I am stoked about this. I think they're updating the dex in order to release an HQ as a part of the Psychic Awakening event. The SoS have the potential to play a major role in PA- it is literally what they were made to do. I've been wanting to buy 15 of these sisters for a long time; I've already got Greyfax, who I bought specifically for this purpose. I also have a cullexus assassin- the female sculpt from Wargames Exclusive. That's a whole lot of psyker hate. The won't always fight alongside my Sisters of Battle, but when there are witches to be burned...

Anyone have a working set of 8th ed rules for the acquisitor? I don't think it made the Forge World index, so as far as I know, it officially has rules for 30k only. I've wanted the model since I saw it, but no rules is a biggy for me.

With SoS, Assassin and Rogue Traders covered, they're only missing Inquisition to pull it altogether as an Imperial Agents Dex.

Sadly the Acqcuisitor only has 30k rules. It would be great if it was transferred over, I have one unbuilt. :D

I'd also love if they got an HQ and there is some sense to the suggestion. Bring them in line now, expand them in thr new arc. Fingers crossed!

WD article is just the index rules, chapter approved prices, and null maiden vanguard detachment.

The only change I can see is that the psyk out grenades were nerfed - instead of inflicting mortal wounds on 6 to hit in addition to normal damage they now have "a hit roll of 6+ inflicts a mortal wound on the target and the attack sequence ends"

Didn't even give the rhino a second stormbolter option.

.... You DO realize that's how GW is now writing effects that do Mortal Wounds, right?

Because when it says "inflicts a mortal wound on the target and the attack sequence ends" it means your opponent doesn't roll a save for it.

There is a small points drop* for a few things. The rules are otherwise very similar, with the addition of a similar detachment system as the Assassins. From the translation I have seen it appears that the restriction on their ability not functioning inside of a transport is not there.

No Strategems. That is a huge bummer.

*I don't know what CA did for them. But anyway, they went down a PPM and the Greatblade went down by half. Flamer is standard price.

Wow, thats a pretty major bummer :sad.:

That it is. Everything else was expected. Nothing big in terms of datasheets or new special rules, which is fine. I guess the points are from CA, so nothing new there. I was expecting Strategems. Not a ton, but maybe 3-5. Instead, nothing. A huge letdown.

It would seem to imply (but is unclear), that if you roll one or more 6s you inflict a single mortal wound and then stop, disregarding any further effects of the weapon. This would differ from the index rules.

I mean it's nice to have the rules in print again but wow... Not even one stratagem? Some simple re-rolls or anti-psyker stuff wouldve been cool. Maybe a flavour one that interacts with Custodes...

I guess my Susters are indeed becoming AoS ladies with Swords.

So on a 6+ they do a MW and thats it... instead of a MW + the chance to wound normally :sad.:

the lack of a 2nd Stormbolter on the rhino is a bit lackluster... espically as every other faction can... however you only get one in the box so are they bringing the rules

in line with the box?  (SMs dont count because get flying things!, and SoB will get their own one -possibly))

EDIT - Index: Imperium 2 is out of print ... so GW have just put the SoS (and in Nov the INQ) in to WD so they are still in print... then at the end of the year they will put them in to CA'19... then they can still be run in official tournaments.

It would be boss if we could include them as Elites in a Custodes Army, and give them the Custodes Keyword, so we can keep the chapter specific buffs and even with weak shooting, a bunch of dirt cheap flamer squads with a 5++, a Blank Aura that stacks -1s to cast, are immune to psychic stuff, and get OBJSEC would make me very happy.

What even was the point in this if they're still now completely unusable and not worth taking with Custodes?

I mean you can still use them with a Primaris Psyker HQ in a regular Vanguard detachment. Astra Telepathica is the shared keyword. There blank ability working from inside a Rhino is a neat, albeit small, buff.

It's just disappointing that that's it. GW keeps bringing them into the fluff but seems to be doing nothing else with them, even though they are a perfect tool for the point the story is at.

We can really only hope that they feature in some way later down the line in PA.
