Captain_Krash
Seems like many factions(well at least SM and now Eldar confirmed) are getting their own special custom rules/traits for how to build DYI armies. This seems like a great opportunity for GW to let us create our own regiments again. Any thoughts on if this may come to pass? I'd imagine we are pretty far out when it comes to our own little slice of the pie but it's still something to think about. GuardDaddy
I think so. Or maybe increased range of relics... Or something that encourages monobuilds, as that's what I think GW is aiming for. I make no judgement call against soup in meta, but from a game design point it's much easier to balance monofaction armies, as fewer permutations to worry about. I think that's angle GW are taking. WarriorFish
I think it's likely too, it's a good move from GW to help give armies some character back so Guard as one of the most diverse (and therefore characterful) armies should be benefiting the most! Perhaps the real question is if there will be any supplements, as that appears to be where the real extras and flavour are (in particular as an addition to the standard)? Hard to say with Guard, I'd reckon no; but I'd also want for all the meat to be in the codex proper anyway. We'll need to wait and see, perhaps Guard's turn will be next year at some point. Probably latter half if so, I'd say but who knows? I really think the current guard codex would mesh well with regiment building, there are several units that could shine a bit better with more list building fluidity. Galron
Would be cool to see something that encourages and rewards mono builds like the Marines get. I look at my marine lists and cannot imagine not mono-building them at this point as most of their more useful abilities are tied to the doctrines. I think our current doctrines are decent and fluffy for the most part, but would like to see some more viable options aside from Cadia. I personally choose not to use cadia and prefer Tallarn and Mordia but I would not complain if they got a buff. That said, I don't see it happening any time soon, there are factions far more deserving of the marine treatment.
