Lithiticus
Hey everyone, I'm fairly new to the White Scars game and admittedly, I'm building my army off of leftovers I have from a couple of marine collections. I have 3 tactical squads I'd like to convert into something else and I was thinking of sternguard and company veterans. However, I've never really ised either before so I thought I'd ask more experienced players. My current army contains: Captain Khan on Bike Kor'sorro Khan (old model) 3 Tac Squads 2 Assault squads 9 bikes 2 assault bikes Company ancient, champion Dreadnought Apothecary 2 devastator squads Thanks in advance. Cap'm Heckus
Sternguard come stock with special-issue boltguns (30” range, -2 AP ) and a Sternguard specific strategum which are nice. Tactical doctrine makes them -3 AP. They also get heavy flamers and a variety of assault, combi, and heavy weapons but the special boltguns are enough to get the job done. Company vets can mix in more assault weapons but At that point just take Vanguard vets. mertbl
Sternguard strat is only on their special issue boltguns, it's a little thing but you swap out to a combi bolter and its worthless in the comparisons. Company vets can be super tanky, super shooting or super melee, sorta. They have the storm shield available. They have all the gun options of the sternguard(-SIB) and all the melee options of the vanguard veterans(-jump packs). Company vets can take wounds for characters but meh. I'd rather lose a wound or d3 on a captain over losing a whole guy or more.
