Competitive List for a GT (Need Feedback)

Recommended Posts

I will be traveling to a GT in November and I plan on taking the Templar's to it. I have came up with a list, most of which is based off of models that I currently have or can easily acquire. I am going to post it below and I ask that those of you who have been playing a lot lately or even taken lists to GT's please look over it and let me know what you think or perhaps some changes that you would make to make it stronger.

Only 3 Initiates in the first Crusader Squad?

Yeah, I'm at 1991 points with the list you see up there. So I left one of my squads of crusaders to be dedicated to range and to sit on objectives and the like. So to save on points I made it minimal with some potential to use the heavy bolter with the strat for mortal wounds.

instead of a second marshal - a lieutenant is the better opinion.

Always take a TH or a fist instead of Lightning claws.

Instead of a secound APO, take the cenobites (just 6 Points)

The Marshal with Jump Pack NEED a Storm Shield instead of Relic Blade

the Crusadersquad with the heavy bolter -> Change it into a tactical squad. If you take them in one of These drop pods, Change the heavy bolter into Plasma gun.

Take out the sword brother weapon in the devastor squad.

I dont understand how Grimaldus will fit in this list... he dont have enough movement. Better take a generic one with a Jump pack

You can save some points by replacing half the initiates with neophyten with cc weapon and Pistol.

What are the drop pods for?

I get that one is for the devastators, but the second one?

I'd rather increase the crusaders to 15 guys, relace half the initiates with neophyten and drop one pod from the list and then put the two melee squads in the lrcs.

If that is possibly points wise. Also I'd give a sword to the initiate with a powerfist in the second squad and put the fist on the swordbrother in the first squad. Two attacks with the fist will be better than one. Also it spreads the Extra punch from the fists out to two squads so you dont loose as much damage when you loose one of the squads.

I agree with all the tips what brothers wrote. In my lastest games i use company vets with power fist and embark them in pods with the devastators, using the vigilus sword brothers detachment, gives you an extra attack and re-rolls wounds. Combined with some chaplain to that +2 to charge, suppressors to avoid overwatch and some Captain or chapter master to reroll hits..just soft the enemy with devs first and smash the rest with the vets Edited by MindEraser

I love them but they cannot be the center of a list. Just a additional thing.

Secondly; I’d fiddle with your points around to take 2 Battlelions, two Faux Devi (Heavy (Grav or HBolter/Plasma/Plasma), two Primaris (Incursors or Cessors) and two Tide. EChampion, Sigislash (I know folks prefer Law, Slash gets point across better), Primaris or Reg Liu w/ Burning Blade, Chappy, and Cenobytes. Then add as you see fit but you should have around 1000 points easily enough for 2 LRCrusaders, 2 Pods and a CVeteran Bomb.
