Since there are a lot of them, I'm still trying to get an idea, but for the moment I would say that I love the space marine unit LaserCannon, the sniper, and the space marine Gatling. Hellebras Posted October 25, 2019 Share Posted October 25, 2019 My favorites to use have been Tactical Marines in 6th and 7th and Intercessors in 8th, and they're pretty much my favorites in the background too. I've always run a pretty large complement of them, and I've never been disappointed. I've won games because opponents didn't bother to finish off Tactical combat squads after reducing them to single models. And Intercessors just do everything I used Tactical squads for, only better. Especially Ironclad Dreadnoughts, as i think their double melee profile with 2 full sized arms has the best aesthetic. The long grabby claw and over sized pointy chainsaw looks so good to me. Theme wise it is also dreads, as 'Even in death I serve.' is such an amazingly grim idea. Close second are terminators, specifically Cataphractii, followed by Crusaders in full BT gear with chainswords roaring. I like the boxy dreds, I just wish they had a knee joint like the redemptor which is just CASH looking. I got a guy where I can lay hands on 100 or so for less than $80 still on sprue. And I think about doing a "Primaris scale" World Eaters Jump army for 30k, the jump packs, bolt pistol and chainaxe arms would raise the price back to the realm of fiscally irresponsible. I adore Redemptors and have adopted calling them nappy dreads from the TTT guys although they're in contest with Vindicators for me. The ignores cover, and ignoring negative modifiers to hit is huge. I only wish they had a heavy/special weapon option, because Auspex Scan at full BS is great, especially when Tactical Doctrune is in.
