Dark Shepherd
The intercessors are good to have extra on hand as they are 13 ppm. So 3 of 4 units you only keep 1 on hand, and most people have those anyways.Thats the points for GH/BC You got me all excited there for a minute Whoops, still 17ppm I feel is still great for their effectiveness (if not better than GH). They just lack soul and character. Yeah theyre great meatshields and Inter Sergeant with power fist is my dream Lone Wolf Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/359440-space-wolves-battleforce-box/page/2/#findComment-5417604 Share on other sites

NightHowler
Fenrisian Wolves used to be able to ride along in a transport back when they could still be taken as war gear for characters, but only when they were war gear. Thunderwolves never could (but I used to wish they could). Yoyo ninja
There was a short story with Thunderwolf cavalry and Harald Deathwolf riding in a Stormwolf. It got shot down by heretic astarties who were surprised to see that lot jump out and maul everything they got close enough too. But I don't think they were ever allowed to in games. Karhedron
I think all the Battleforce boxes have an RRP of £100 (UK). That represents a saving of either £46.50 or £54.50 depending on whether you get 1 or 2 SW Primaris upgrade sprues in there (the picture is not very clear). Either way, it is a saving of about a third compared to buying normally. Bryan Blaire
There's are usually enough upgrade sprues to outfit the basic troop body type, so if it's five Tacticus bodies, likely only one upgrade sprue, but if it's 10 Tacticus, it should be two upgrade sprues. Wolf Lord Duregar
So, we got 10 Intercessors (with upgrade sprues), 5 Wulfen, an Iron Priest, and a flyer. ... Wow. I'm not sure I could make a more disjointed collection of models if I tried. I mean, Fliers can't be consistently repaired by Iron Priests due to their minimum movement characteristic, The only legal passengers for the flier both want to be on the ground providing buffs/repairing... Yeah, this definitely feels like GW trying to move kits they have too many of. I think you can read between the lines here and figure out which elements are going to remain prominent parts of the range going forward. Aside from the Iron Priest, which is relatively recent plastic model (only 4 years old), no small-scale Marine infantry. GW really needs to get going on some Space Wolf specifc primaris infantry, I am starting to get antsy as my bitz box goes dry. I honestly think all Primaris units should be "wolfified" just as Grey Hunters are derived from Tactical Marines and Blood Claws from Assault Marines, kinda.. It suits us much more to make them work in our style of war and give them new names. Do that, make Ragnar a Primaris, it would suit that young Wolf Lord and make a new Codex.. The box is weird.. i always prefer more basic stuff in even Battle Force boxes or whatever it is called.. I would have liked to see atleast that big flying coffin thrown out for more proper infantry.. And a propr Leader instead of an Iron Priest - that is not a man to lead a Space Wolves Force, not a warlord.. Whether they're called Intercessors or get a new wolfy name like Greysmiters or something less dumb. Used to be the way GW had you build Greyhunters, before the 5th edition kits, was that they sold a box of tactical marines spart with a SW sprue in it. This early sprue had a bunch of heads and a couple weapons, not a lot of variety but enough to get by on. Certainty more robust than the current upgrade sprues they're selling. Wolf Lord Duregar
Yeah I loved that frame, bitz ordered a lot when it was possible. Still prefer some of those heads to the more hairy, current ones. Even had names for them - I bet you know which one I called "Elvis"? ;) Even if it the same units with the same options - they should have Space Wolf-y names in the Codex. But that is just my opinion.. (And frankly I think they should have more Wolf-y upgrades too, like a power fist here and there....) Karhedron
is it confirmed 2 upgrade sprues? as I still find that box is lacking real value Not confirmed as far as I know. Maybe someone with a better knowledge of the sprue components can work out if it is 1 sprue per 5 Intercessors or per 10. Either way the box is pretty good value. It is £150-ish of models for £100 (less if you can get it via your favourite independent store). That is inline with the army battle force boxes and represents a similar level of discount to previous years IIRC. Whether it represents value for an individual will probably depend on whether they have the models or not. I don't actually have anything from that box but with that level of discount, I might consider jumping (belatedly) on the Stormwolf/Wulfen train. Dark Shepherd
is it confirmed 2 upgrade sprues? as I still find that box is lacking real value I assume it is. Otherwise its one sprue that only covers half a ten man squad. Or theres no upgrades and theres 10 Ultramarines in the box Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/359440-space-wolves-battleforce-box/page/2/#findComment-5423430 Share on other sites

Or theres no upgrades and theres 10 Ultramarines in the box It's definitely not that bad. The cover of the box definitely shows some models with wolf tails but it is not quite clear enough to count them or work out if there are duplicate parts which would indicate a second sprue. Rune Priest Jbickb
An upgrade sprue has 5 sw shoulder pads for intercessors, and 8 are depicted in the pic on the box. I would be reasonably confident that there are 2 upgrades sprues in the box Dark Shepherd and Karhedron 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/359440-space-wolves-battleforce-box/page/2/#findComment-5423452 Share on other sites
