Kevlarshark
So I am converting up some Sentinel Power Lifters. Two questions 1/ Anyone else got some conversions/kitbashes? Please post some pictures, I will stick up my current progress soon. 2/Anyone used them recently? I was thinking of deploying them forward, using the scout move to gain ground, moving normally, then using the "crush them" strat to gain advance and charge, followed by crashing into the intended victim with 3 attacks each at 2+ to hit... Exilyth
1/ Anyone else got some conversions/kitbashes? Please post some pictures, I will stick up my current progress soon. I was thinking about converting one/some, but haven't gotten around to yet. My research into powerlifter conversions brought up the following: I quite like https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/749223.page as it's rather true to the original. Powerlifter with 3d printed arms: http://www.40k-fanworld.net/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=83281 (thread is in german, but the images explain it quite nicely) For something more simple: https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/1026813-.html For something a bit more different (tracked), there's http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295416-sentinel-power-lifter-converted/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/Warhammer/comments/8mrhan/kitbashed_powerlifterarmoured_sentinel/ Ofc. that list is not exhaustive. 2/Anyone used them recently? I was thinking about running 'emperors talons recon company' formation back in 7th - been a while since I entertained the thought of going 'all sentinel'. I've got no experience with powerlifters, but it's a sentinel with a big meelee weapon - not as resilient or combat proficient as a dreadnought, but almost purpose made to run up to and tarpit tanks. May even blow 'em up. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/359755-sentinel-power-lifters/#findComment-5422617 Share on other sites
Kevlarshark
Cheers Exilyth. There is excellent stuff there. The German one may help me with the arm joints. Here is where I am up to...Its all just bluetacked together so far. Exilyth
Nice. In its current state it looks a bit like an insect and gives off ambot-like vibes. I'm not sure on the manticore/deathstrike launcher grate part - I would move that down a bit so it sits between the non-moving parts of the hydraulics. Other than that, it's looking great so far. A piece of sprue, a searchlight and the manticore/deathstrike launcher grate part aside, what bits did you use for the arms? Kevlarshark
Cheers Exilyth. The Arms are from the killa kan kit....I might still yank the grate altogether. Kevlarshark
Ok Three options for the Grate. Lower? Off entirely? Or Rotated? All will probably need a bit of cleaning up and filing to make them neater, but which do you guys prefer? Exilyth
I'd pick 3, but 2 would be ok too if some detail like e.g. the searchlight was added to the lower front. The Arms are from the killa kan kit. Good to know, definately a kit I'll look at when/if I do manage to conquer the pile of shame and get around to building a power lifter. Kevlarshark
Exilyth - yeah, the search light I left off untill I got the grill placment right...It will go back when I have a good spot for it. Going to get get some paint on it now and see how it turns out... I will leave the grill off to let me get paint at the sentinel nose and then see what you lot think. Kevlarshark
Had a play with one of my old magnetised sentinels and managed to make a version of the loader rig that will fit. The arms need paint, but seems to work. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/359755-sentinel-power-lifters/#findComment-5429054 Share on other sites
