Gaz1858
Hi all, I attended an ITC Team event this past weekend in Australia running Pure Admech. I wont go through each game but just a few things that I thought were important and worth making note of. First off the list so you know what I had: Mars Bat Cybernetica Cohort Cawl TPE with Relic from Cohort 2 x 5 rangers with 2 plasma caliver 1 x 5 rangers with 1 plasma caliver 5 Dakka Bots Dunerider Mars Spearhead Manipulus 3 x Skorpius with Belleros Onager with Neutron and 2 Cognis Stubbers Onager with Icarus and Cognis stubber Stygies Bat Daedalosus TPE 3 x Rangers 10 Hoplites Dunerider From my list the Hoplites and Onagers were very sub par. All were given good targets like Knights for the Neutrons and vehicles for the Hoplites but all underperformed. For the hoplites their S6 and only -1 just isnt enough to do any good damage except to the lightest of vehicles. The neutron just doesnt have enough shots and is too unreliable. The icarus is my favourite of the Onagers but again it just didnt cut it most of the time. Stars were the Bots who when shooting just blew things away. In 2 of my games they never got a shot off so putting them into attack twice still allowed me to get wins. The Skorpius was also very useful in taking units out of magic boxes, we need the out of LOS shooting in ITC!! And then theres the Admech Trifecta of Cawl, Manipulus and Dadalosus. All armies should be using these if Mars as rerolling all shots, extending ranges and adding +1 to hit just all synchronises well. Notes from enemies I went 3 - 2 at the tourney with both losses coming from Marines. I hadnt had a chance to play against these armies before so not knowing what they did led to the losses in part. 1. When using the Manipulus and Cohort remember the bots have a 50" threat range (36+6+8) when you pay a CP to turn the Heavy to Assault. Against the first Marine player (imperial Fists) if I had deployed as far back as possible he would have been out of range with his Stalker Bolt Rifles. These things have 3 Damage each against vehicles guys so watch out. This would have given me a turn or two to shoot his 50 Intercessors and potentially turn the game around. I deployed to close and he had range from the get go. 2. Try and include some Lucius DS or a Drill or just something that gets up the board quick. Even with the extra range on guns and ability to move and shoot you generally dont want to get to close to opponents. This allows their log range stuff to sometimes remain safe. Thunderfire cannons, Whirlwinds etc being the main culprits. I needed something in my list to go and get these units but just didnt have it. 3. On the subject of going and getting things always knowing that your entire army can move and shoot without penalty is great. Yeh you pay a CP for the Bots but outside of that Admech are very mobile. Its partly why I made Cawl the warlord to boost the rerolls to 9". Its also why i deployed the Manipulus nearer to the front so I could grant range and still hopefully cover the units that needed it. 4. The -1 to hit on Stygies isnt all its cracked up to be anymore with so many rerolls. I personally will only take Stygies as an alpha strike option. I may even look at mixed Detachments as losing the -1 is no big deal and potentially losing 2 canticles isnt massive either. 5. Remember that the game isnt over until its over. In 2 of my games i came back from a huge deficit to win one and only lose 1 by 6 BP. Against a Harlequin/Craftworld list I was down by about 10 - 15 points in turn 3. I won that game just by sticking at it and racking up the points. Against the second marine player he destroyed most of my list in turn 2 and sticking at it turned a huge loss into a 31 - 25 loss. 25 points from a loss is good especially when most of your army is already dead and tanks are getting tagged in combat. My results were 17 - 27 against Imperial Fists - Loss 33 - 8 against Knights - Win 28 - 27 against Harlies/Craftworld - Win 26 - 23 against Drukhari - Win 25 - 31 against White Scars/Salamanders - Loss Going forward I really want my list to have a Shooting Threat and a Combat/in your face threat so will be looking for a drill and Priests with a dunerider and priests in stygies to either push forward or DS in for some back field threat. Admech can do both in a 2K list its just getting the right combination. brother_b
Have you considered Lucius to deep strike stuff? Good games and thanks for the input. Gaz1858
Its one thing I am considering. My list at the moment is Cawl Manipulus 3 Skitarii Rangers 4 Bots Dadalosus 3 Skorpius TPE 2 x 10 Fulgurites Dunerider Drill So I have 245 points left (275 If i decide to do away with the FW benefits and run the whole thing mixed as I wont need the TPE) Lucius Priests Dsing, More Priests in duneriders, Dragoons etc are all things im considering. Want to keep it pure Admech to Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/359809-recent-itc-team-tourney/#findComment-5423539 Share on other sites
