Angel of Solitude
Hello all, I've been slowly building a forces of Tzeentch army, which I'm happy to be on the more fluffy and less competitive side of things. As such, I have it in my head that I want a Lord of Change to be part of my Tzeentch Daemon force. However, I'm not entirely sure what the best way to run him is. I won't be able to hide him behind a screen in the way that I can with a Daemon Prince, do I just throw him up the board and charge him into things? Or is there some other way of running him? Thanks in advance! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/359870-lord-of-change-how-best-to-use/ Share on other sites
Closet Skeleton
Impossible robe, supported by soul grinders/chariots for target saturation. Its not good but it is a fire sink. Offensively Lords of Change are just kind of worthless. Thousand Sons Daemon princes make them a joke. Angel of Solitude
Thanks...I think! How does the Impossible Robe benefit? I thought that the LoC already had a 4++, since Daemonic gives it 5++, and Ephemeral Form improves it to a 4++. That then leaves me with one single saving throw re-roll per game, which doesn't feel useful? CrystalSeer
Impossible robe gives you a 4++ which ephemeral makes a 3++. You can also give the Warlord trait to reduce damage taken by 1. If you position carefully you can make him an absolute pain to kill. He can then run around doing mortal wounds and hitting things with his staff, which turns things into chaos spawn! One of my more competitive lists has this guy running around. If you ally with TSons, you can have him and two daemon princes running around with 3++ saves, being able to heal with magic. Use a large block of horrors for splitting and its incredibly difficult for the enemy to kill anything in your army. Angel of Solitude
Ah - thanks CrystalSeer, that makes sense now. Plus a Changeling nearby to give a 6+++ to everything, that sounds like the way that I might want to play Daemons! Sonoftherubric21
I think that the Lord of Change is the only truly viable Greater Daemon at the moment. A base 4++ and substantial casting is solid. The Impossible Robe giving it a 3++ is crazy good for such a big unit and it will soak up ALOT of damage. Certainly best way to use it and it compliments the T-sons greatly (if thats how you roll) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/359870-lord-of-change-how-best-to-use/#findComment-5426820 Share on other sites

Angel of Solitude
Thanks CrystaSeer...tried this last night with a squad of 10 Pink Horrors with full reinforcement points, and it did its job extremely well! Protected the characters very nicely. Also, LoC was more reliable for me too...3++ and a 6+++ from the Changeling made it quite survivable.
