So, with the new codex/plastics, the Hospitaller is getting the biggest increase in base of all the characters. I've see reports that it's now a 50 mm base, and is definitely bigger than the other characters (See the full army shot: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/11/13/sisters-of-battle-beyond-the-boxgw-homepage-post-1/ )

I have one of the old classic sisters hospitallers, and I know if I just stick her on a base she'll look extremely awkward. I was going to put her on Sister Novena's base, but even that is just a 32, so it will mainly help with the height difference. Any recommendations or ideas to make her close to the new sculpt? Humans vary in size considerably- I wouldn't worry about it? Maybe put her on some rubble, add a broken temple piece? Maybe do a headswap to sell the idea that the older one is a  younger "junior" hospitaller?

Not too worried about the actual model height, more worried about filling out the base so that she doesn't look lost on it.

And, apparently solving my own issue, I realized that I have the primaris casualty from Haarken's base (I used him in a previous conversion).

I think I'll use him to fill out the base as a rainbow warrior casualty, as a reference to the old rogue trader picture.

Hmm.. I just painted my Hospitaller. Yeah, I think that going by local tournament rules she'd have to be a on 50mm base too. I have some extra 50mm bases but unadorned. I try to make my units tournament-legal even though I haven't participated in one for some time.

Making a base smaller is a big no no, so I would definitely make sure to put her on a 50mm if you want to keep her tourney legal.

You can use models with the base they came on normally, when it comes to tourney it's entirely up to the event but if you want to use a larger base to match the new model's I think you'd need to go to town with it to make sure she isn't lost. This sounds like the perfect opportunity for a fancy scenic base ;)

Needs some heavier decorating on the base at the very least, considering the metal model is a bit smaller than the new one - with the pose further making her top down footprint even smaller. Definitely a bit of a "where did everyone else go?" feeling looking at her on the 50mm base!

I suppose the big base isn't without a small benefit in that it makes it potentially slightly easier to keep two different units within 3" due to the added base coverage.

It looks pretty cool, though it'd certainly make the whole thing rather TALL as well. I wish I could afford scenic bases in general. I'm thinking maybe trying to make some custom decoration from foam, just not sure if I can "coat" it so that it doesn't get all dinged once in the correct shape and such. My general basing theme is just sand & rocks, so maybe some ruin pieces in addition.
