Incurssors from Start Collecting Infiltrators

I’ve already got the Shadowspear Infiltrators and there’s already repeat sculpts. If I got the multipart box and built the Infiltrators, could I combine the left over bits with the monopose bodies from the Start Collecting to make 10 Incurssors without too much conversion work? Or do the monopose elements get in the way too much (shoulder pads etc)?

In fact, what makes an Incurssor? Head and backpack attachment? Or more?

Could be a decent way to get some more Suppressors and Eliminators without having 4x each pose on the Infiltrators?

Having just built some Incursors from the multi-part box, what you'll need are:

  • Heads
  • Backpack tops (the backpacks come in two parts; the main backpack and then either a comms array or camera depending on how you build them)
  • Gun Optics (the guns are similar to the Intercessors, in that you come in two parts with the central piece determining the load out)
  • Paired combat knives (although you can do without them)
  • Haywire mines

Not sure how hard the kit-bash will be. The right arms (from the models perspective, without the shoulder pad) will be the easier to do as pads are limited (and separate). There are a couple of unique Incursor arms in the set, like the arm throwing a combat knife and the one carrying a haywire mine, so if you take ETB infiltrators and cut the arms at the torso it shouldn't be too hard. There appears to be plenty of guns, and gun arms, on the sprues so you shouldn't run out. If you look online at the GW store, you get 2x what they show you in the picture - a pair of sprues makes 5 Incursors / infiltrators.

Yeah, sounds like I could use the Infiltrators packs from the Start Collecting on the multi-part Infiltrators and then the only tricky bit would be the guns but it should be doable. I’d leave the double knives off maybe.

Thanks for the advice Fraters!

After looking at the GW store Incursor page; am I right I thinking that all the heads are ‘open topped’? As someone who always picks the helmeted option, that’s super disappointing. What a stupid tactical choice...

I'd just use different helmets if it bothers you. The armor will still clearly be phobos, and as long as your using the correct weapons no one is going to care.

I plan on mixing the options on the two halves of the kit. I like the knives on the Incursors, but not the heads. (Not too sure about the bolter sights either tbh.) Whereas I love Infiltrator helmets.

Either way, it's hardly a difficult thing to play 'counts as'

I’ve kitbashed shadowspear infiltrators, the new infiltrator/incursor box and some reivers I’d never got round to building into 20 infiltrators, 10 incursors and a spare comms guy and helix adept. It has needed a little bit of green stuff work but mainly because I’m a bit of a perfectionist.

You get a ton of spare guns in the infiltrator set, but only 5 of each kind of magazine. Spares from intercessors can be used for infiltrators, maybe with a second scope stuck on the side. You get a spare infiltrator aerial for the sergeant, plus the comms guy’s one, so those are ok too.

Incursors are a bit harder. Weird thing on their gun and backpack is hard to replicate. I have some similar things on my Fiats upgrade sprues though, so I could potentially use those for sergeants.

This does leave me with more vanguard guys than I’m likely to need, but at least I’ve used the reivers.
