ValourousHeart
My guess/ hope is they will alter the rods to be a standalone addition (null, office & brazier) not weapon dependant.... Well then this means that 3 of the 5 pictures we have seen for the Canoness show an illegal model according to these rules. So expect a change to be forthcoming. And make any modifications before the FAQ at your peril. That way all my Canonesses with look more alike, and the long robe & tassels lady can have some whips to drive the Repentia to glory. Actually, of the four multipart Canonesses they've shown, the one with the rod (presumably a null rod) and the one with the brazier both have swords on their backs. Since it's sheathed and appears to have the same grip as the sword in the hands of the Canoness with a chainsword and inferno pistol, it's not a stretch to say those two models have a chainsword. The one in the boxset, on the other hand, clearly has a plasma pistol, a rod, and a power sword or blessed blade, making their equipment illegal. https://preview.redd.it/km0iixxy9iy31.jpg?width=960&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=ffda8a5eabd191a7d46d58555fc04ebc4962cd65 Edited November 29, 2019 by taikishi Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/360167-sisters-of-battle-army-box-canoness-issue/page/2/#findComment-5436721 Share on other sites

The same work around DOES work for putting a blessed blade on a canoness with a null rod though. Equip chainsword, equip null rod, swap chainsword. Toxichobbit
Don't forget that the Canoness that does come in the box has a monopose loadout that is illegal according to the rules in the selfsame box. Really? Hadn't looked that closely at her rules. Heh, if so, classic GW, like with the Deathwatch plastic release and its ghost knives. Knives have never* had rules in 40k. Lots of models have knives with no rules. Like the entire Cadian range. Many Space Marine units (Tactical Squad, Intercessors), Chaos Marines, Ork Boyz etc. It's not comparable to an illegal plasma pistol (that probably won't stay illegal once we get an FAQ). The exception to this is the so called combat knives of things like Scouts or Reivers. Which are less knives and more short swords. * not quite true, they may have had rules in RT and I think during 2nd there was a difference between knives and unarmed/improvised melee. Dr_Ruminahui
I find it really weird that they made the wargear so weapon dependant... sure, the modern GW philosophy is to limit units to the equipment they come with in the box, but it seems strange to limit it to exact combinations. tvih
Yeah, the Canoness data sheet is really really odd options-wise. Not sure what they were thinking there. ERJAK
Yeah, the Canoness data sheet is really really odd options-wise. Not sure what they were thinking there. They were trying to prevent you from taking option combinations that can't be modeled...AND prevent you from doing something like Blessed blade, inferno pistol, null rod/rod of office Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/360167-sisters-of-battle-army-box-canoness-issue/page/2/#findComment-5438405 Share on other sites
tvih
Blessed/Inferno/Rod would hardly be so awesomesauce as to make it worth preventing. wildweasel 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/360167-sisters-of-battle-army-box-canoness-issue/page/2/#findComment-5438487 Share on other sites
