Judicially themed components - looking for ideas.

Recommended Posts

I'm toying with the idea of an order of Sisters based around the theme of militant lawyers. (It's the day job and I think it would be funny.)

Does anybody know of any model company or bits manufacturer that has models with judicial wigs or hanging scales?

I'm envisaging a conversion of the pulpit cannoness with a blindfold, sword and scales.

I'm also looking for Pegasus transfers, (Pegasus is the symbol of my Inn.)

Not interested in gavels mind. British judges don't use them. (Despite what you've seen on TV...)

That is an epic wig. I have to say!

I also hadn't considered the Ambulance chasing jokes. (Not being a PI lawyer on the whole, those jokes don't get made in my presence often.)

Perhaps my order can be fluffed to be constantly following a hospitaller order around and seeking claims against the wounded.

"Have you been maimed or disembowelled while fighting for the god emperor of mankind?"

You're talking like this guy right?

Or this kind of thing?

I don't know how you'd sculpt the latter short of carving grooves into basically a hood. Until now I didn't realize this was still a thing in 2019.

It is and it isn't a thing in 2019.

I.e. those particular long wigs are for ceremonial purposes, so that's probably a picture of the State Opening of Parliament, or the day all of those lawyers were appointed as Queen's Counsel. (The captains of the barrister world)

On a day to day basis, and only in senior criminal courts, we wear shorter wigs, which are more practical:

A Lawyer's wig looks like this:

Whereas, a judge's wig looks like this:

If you find a good source for scales, please post it here.  My chaos force uses as its army symbol the scales of justice (probably seen best here on my Chaos knight: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/356852-the-bringers-of-judgment-dr-ruminahuis-knights/?p=5347819) and I would loved to work the symbol into the army as more than just a pauldron adornment.

Will do. My current thinking is to just make them.

I'm contemplating something like a bevelled sequin and either some chains or fishing wire. I'm just not sure what to use for the arm. However, at the scale you're working on, Knight size, you could use a AOS bow as the arm? A judicator bow would be ideal.

Thanks for the reply and the ideas.  I'm more looking for how to do the scales for chaos space marines, though - I used the knight as it came to mind as having the clearest picture of the iconagraphy, but I have since found some pics of it on my marines (see http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/346143-the-judgment-on-kadeth-dr-ruminahuis-emperors-children/?p=5283881).

Your sequin idea sounds good, but I doubt you'll find chains small enough - fishing line sounds like a better bet.  Still super fiddly though...

I'll post here if I have any ideas come to me....

There is something in the AoS line, but I'm not sure what model its from - another poster makes use of it as part of a Cawdor converstion (see here: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/359468-bcks-necromunda-conversion-challenge-112019/?p=5431145 - again, not my work).

I had another idea about the bow, for a scale, on that scale. The owner of my FLGS collects a smaller scale fantasy game, a bow on that scale may do the trick? I'll ask him if he has any spare.
