Riddlesworth
Looking to gauge people's thoughts on this. Litanies are good, I don't see much argument on that. For 1 CP, the ability to kick out 2 litanies per battle round seems like a really good return on the investment. As an example, I'm currently running catechism of fire supporting my aggressors and flip flopping between father bash with mantra of strength and recitation of focus, which in turn 1 helps a unit of suppressors or intercessors and turns 2/3 makes those aggressors very unpleasant. Here's the dilemma - with so many other really good warlord traits available (specifically in my case Adept of the Codex, which is great in a CP hungry army), is the additional CP to get wise orator worth it? Going from a 66% chance for the litany to 88% is a really big boost, but is it necessary when you can CP re-roll the litany if needed. You're freeing up a CP or gaining a different warlord trait (again, father bash loves Imperium's Sword, but master of strategy is also awesome). The math seems marginal... TL/DR: After spend a CP on Master of Sanctity, is it worth spending another CP on Wise Orator worth it? Kallas
Here's the dilemma - with so many other really good warlord traits available (specifically in my case Adept of the Codex, which is great in a CP hungry army), is the additional CP to get wise orator worth it? You're freeing up a CP or gaining a different warlord trait (again, father bash loves Imperium's Sword, but master of strategy is also awesome). The math seems marginal... Let's put it this way: are you likely going to want to reroll a Litany at least once in a game (and you're not otherwise using Hero of the Chapter on something else)? If the answer is yes, then it's worth the 1CP for Wise Orator, as you're going to spend that 1CP anyway. With two Litanies per turn, you're likely going to fail two in the first three rounds of the game, meaning that Wise Orator will, effectively, give you +1CP net, assuming that you'd want to spend the CP to reroll them. Some of it will depend on what Litanies you're choosing, and how much your army can benefit. Picking both Recitation of Focus and Catechism of Fire for your firebase? Yeah, you'll likely want both off as often as possible; Exhortation of Rage and Canticle of Hate? They'll probably need to be active turn two onwards, but only if you're actively seeking melee engagement. MeltaRange
I think it's absolutely worth it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/360338-master-of-sanctity-warlord-trait-worth-it/#findComment-5441168 Share on other sites
SallyForth
I agree with Kallas. Anything that costs 1cp but might save you from rerolling a critical litany/spell ANYWAY is just good economics. That’s why I pay for the extra Salamander relic Tome of velcona....it give me +1 to cast all powers. Even though I pay a cp for it, it saves me at least one Cp a game in rerolling crucial spells. Claws and Effect
It's worth it for making a 3+ invuln available on a Chaplain alone. Claws and Effect
Sorry for the double post. My Master of Sanctity jump Chaplain murdered a Broodlord and tanked attacks from 14 Genestealers with the 3+ invuln and Iron Resolve trait. He made his points back and then some that game. jeremy1391
Definitely worth it and am trying to make a competitive brigade with my CP hungry imperial fists.
