Primus Medicae wargear options

Just to be clear, a Primus Medicae can take any wargear available to a Terminator Consul, excluding the specifically listed options...correct?

 

I recycled some bits and bobs to kitbash one and it’ll be more effort to come up with a needle pistol than to slap a combi-bolter or such on him.

Yes, assuming he is given Terminator armour he can take any wargear available to a terminator consul (Excluding the equipment listed in the cannot take section such as a Power Fist, which also means Power Scythes and so on). Thunderhammer and combi-bolter is the go-to choice for me!

I had a Cataphractii Capt from the Heroes kit lying around that I wasn't going to use, and then came across some apoth bits and it seemed like a match made in heaven (and easy enough conversion for my skills). So he's keeping the narthecium and will prbo just do combi-bolter to keep it easy.

A unique thing to keep in mind with Primus Medicae in TDA is that, unless this has changed, they retain their Needle Pistol making them the only TDA equipped model that can get +1A for being equipped with a CCW and Pistol.

 

So if you can give them juicy non two-handed or specialist weapons, you get a free attack out of the mix.

Out of interest, would that mean for an IF TDA Apothecary, you could give them a SG? As you have to be able to take a TH? (I may be remembering this incorrectly)

Yes, you would be able to do that and you'd get the +1 attack bonus because yikes Solarite Gauntlets aren't specialist weapons lol
