Yeah i was thinking about it as well :)

Land Raider Crusader

>>> Asmodai (and lieutenant ?)

>>> DW Ancient and Champion (or Apothecary ?)

>>> DW Knights

Used to be 800pts, now it's 650.

it came out to 715 for me.

Crusader 264

Asmodai 110

DW Knights 175

DW Champion 90

DW Ancient 76

I'm not sure how you got 650.

Hmm i did the maths without Battle Scribe because he wasn't updated yet. Maybe i forgot the Ancient, i don't know.

So asmodai in a land raider is tempting BUT you have to recite litanies at the start of the battle round. At that point he will be embarked in the LR and my guess is that he can’t recite any litany in the same manner as you can’t use psychic power and other abilities. So my best bet is still the jump pack chaplain.

With the nerf to Thunder Hammer and our incoming Litanies, here's a suggestion for a build :

Interrogator Chaplain = Jump Pack, Warlord & Master of Maneuver, Mace of Redemption, Mantra of Strength & Canticle of Hate = 99pts (yeah right under 100pts !)

Defensively he got 5W T4 3+ & 4++

Offensively (Mantra of Strength) he got 4 Attacks (5 on the charge) hit on 2+ (full reroll) S8 AP-3 Dmg D3+1

Speaking of charge he got a 6'' bubble reroll advance/charge (Master of Maneuver) AND +2'' to charge +3'' to consolidate (Canticle of Hate)

Basically a unit deep striking near him will do their 9'' charge ON AVERAGE and you can reroll (75% rate of success)

And let's not forget the To-Hit full reroll bubble, the -1LD bubble and his Spiritual Leader rule

It's time to convert that Jump Pack BA Chaplain ! :)

I can't find anything that says the Chaplain must be on the board at the start of the battle round, in order to recite a litany. Have I missed it?

I believe the Litany is uttered at the start of the battle round but reserves come down at the end of the movement phase???

You "cast" your litany at the start of the battle round, models not on the table can't act. At least its the ruling for psy abilities, techmarines and auras. I would be pretty supprised if GW would choose to rule this one different. Even if its not impossilbe, they work in mysterious ways.

Yes. So you can cast Canticle of Hate with a Chaplain already on the table and Deep Striking units will benefit from it because it's a bubble, not a "target this unit".

+1 to wound for sure. Cast on a dark talon. Dark talon flies next what it wants to die. Easy.

Ohh that's a nice one!

As for now Astorath is the only chaplain that can recite two litanies, maybe we get something similar though...

This was in the context Asmodai in a Land raider, which I think doesn't work well with litanies.

One of the few things i'm eager to see in PA4 is the updated Asmodai :wink:
